Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas, NV, —“Home of the fighter pilot”—is also the stage for one of the biggest military airshows in the country! This year, more than 100,000 aviation enthusiasts attended this annual military mecca to see warbirds, jet fighters and other leading-edge flying hardware. Air Age Media the publisher of Model Airplane News and Horizon Hobby teamed up to show thousands of people what RC is all about. It was our first time at this impressive military showcase, but it surely won’t be our last. Here are a few photos of what we saw.
F-16 Thunderbirds were the highlight of the show, especially when the F-16s flew inches apart in their formation flights.
The half airplane, half helicopter, the versatile Osprey demonstrated its flight capabilities.
Horizon Hobby’s new FS One flight simulator was a hit with the crowd that wanted to get some stick time.
