I was wondering if I could get some input on my Scat. I ordered a 700sc set up from Steve, v and he advised me that I would need more than 7 cells to run it @ peak. BBY claims the 21 can accommodate 12 cells. Has anyone tried it? I know I can Easley buy a single lipoly 14.4 0r 18.4 volt pack and pull it off. But I want to run the offshore class and I don’t think Lipo cells are legal.
Any input will help out greatly. Also anyone in the central or south Jersey area? I am looking to start a club down here.
Thanks
Tom

yeah, the 700sc is best on at least 12 cells. as far as other boaters in Jersey, there are plenty. the namba FE nat's were hosted there earlier this year. i'll see if i can get some contact info for ya.

Thanks. I know of the clubs up north. I guess a 1 or 2 hour drive isent bad to run events. I would like to start a Southern club. I have 5 lakes with in 7 miles of me 1 of witch is a mile away. I work for the Township There and have no problem securing the site and gaining aproval for acess to the utlitys and restrooms as this is a township park.
Thanks for the info

I wound up calling BBY today and amending my order. I went with the new 26 cat. I wasent shore the 21 was going to be enough boat for my aplication. I have decided on The Callan Marine paint scheme. Well a modified version anyway. The factory paind is quite bland. I hope to be ready for the first spring event in my district. Cant wait to go OffShore racing.
Thanks for the input :)

You might want to get intouch with Taylor Shaw.. EyekandyBoats.inc. He has one he says does in the 40's. I can't validate that but that what he says and it is a great looking boat

Taylor's Scat26 has BL power, so 40 mph is certainly possible. With a 700SC and 12 cells, look for the low- to mid-30s depending on how daring you are. :D You made the right decision going with the Scat26, IMO the Scat21 is too small for 12 cells and that heavy 700 - it would run of course, but not that well because it is too heavy for the lift it generates. The 21 is great for modern 6-cell BL power but is about done at 35 mph - twice the design speed.

I have revised what im doing with the scat. I bought the Aquacraft brushless system from Steve @ OffShore for it. The 700 is now slated for an H&M viper to be run in LSH on12 cells. I am going to run the Scat in P Off shore maybe Q. I will have to do some testing. My scat ships out today. I should have it ready for testing with in 2 weeks. Weather permitting, I should have some numbers on the combination & Some pics also.

That should make a great combanation! Plaese let us know how it turns out. And don't you just love the AquaCraft combo deal Steven is selling. that is one heck of a deal with his water jacket and all.

Yeah it is. I bought the last one....lol. I am picking up another when he gets more. I am going to buy a BlackJack, gut it and...well you can guess :D. I think with a little weight reduction it will be quick.

I LIVE IN CENTRAL JERSEY, HOUSE ALSO DOWN SHORE. ANY CLUBS OR EVENTS AROUND?, I'M LOOKING TO GET A RTR ELECTRIC, I HAVE NO IDEA OF HOBBY, JUST STARTING OUT.
I WAS GIVEN A DUMAS SCARAB 38KV HULL, NEVER RIGGED. SEEMS TO DIFFICULT FOR ME TO GO GAS. SO WOULD LIKE TO LOOK INTO FAST ELECTRIC DEEP VEE OR A CAT.
CAN YOU HELP A JERSY GUY OUT?
