I was currious if anyone has ever traveled with thier truck and if they encountered any problems at the airport. I did this a few years back and had no problem but I just wasn't sure what the case would be today with all these new regulations. My plan is to remove the a-arms and tires so my revo 3.3 will fit in a carry on bag. Any suggestions?

What I have thought would be a good plan is the following: first, only bring what you must. Of course, no fuel, but bring as few tools as possible. All tools should be checked and not carried on. Take a cardboard box and reinforce it (I have heard of PVC piping for protection) and plop your truck in that. Put tools in a separate checked luggage bag. The radio should probably be one of the only things actually carried on with you, as it is relatively fragile. Again, NO TOOLS ON THE PLANE, and they will be confiscated. If you have a mini or micro car or truck, that can probably be carried on, but no Revos :D:D:D!

I was going to probably UPS my tool box (which is an extremly small Plano tackle box) to CA, check my wheels, tires, and my a-arms (or maybe even UPS them) and only have my chassis (excluding aarms of course) and radio as a carry on. Are you saying no revos becuse of the length and size of the chassis? I think it will fit in my small duffle carry on bag that I always use as a carry on. Do you think that will work? Like I said before, I took my CEN FunFactor MT along with the radio on the plane without removing any parts. If I can get my revo 3.3 to fit in this bag I should be ok to take it on the plane shouldn't I?

What I was thinking is that you run the risk of having it confiscated. The truck is very durable, so there is no real worry of having it damaged, but you may find that the best way might be to just ship it to yourself in CA? With current guidelines you simply cannot bring tools or liquids (ca) on board, so they must be checked, and a Revo (nitro) might have fuel (liquid) in the tank, = no good for you! Personally, I would check it all, except for the radio.
