I have a savage x and put a couple of upgrades on it. I went to put a 3 speed in it and the hpi aluminum clutch shoes. I went out to drive it and when I punched the throttle, it did nothing for about 1 second then it went. The engine isn't reving for the first second when i give it throttle. It isn't the electronics because when the engine wasn't running i gave it throttle and the servo responded immediately. I tried from a little roll about 3mph when the engine was going and it accelerated like before I installed them. I think that it is the clutch shoes because I saw a couple of tiny ball bearings on the tray where I was working. I am not sure if they came from it but I don't remember them being there before. Has anybody else had this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

wow first can i say slow down and second can i say do not demand so much out of your machine because what you are describing is normal and it takes a bit for the gas to get to the piston i mean once you hit the throttle full speed don't expect it to go automatically and did you break it in???

yes did u break it in? also did u tune it, probably just a tuning issue, also make sure ur gear mesh is proper, dont know much about the savage layout. But it sounds like ur low speed is to? rich? yes, well thats the way my hyper .21 acts with a OS RG carb on it, when its to rich on low speed, its really weird with this carb on my engine though. But do u see alot of smoke at the beginning?

I've had it for a while and broke it in properly. Gear mesh is fine. I think that it could be the low speed needle. Is what I described an effect that the low speed needle has on the engine? I have never experienced it before but you probably know more than me. I dont think that is too rich either but I also haven't tuned it in a while. Ill tune it next time I go out and drive. Thanks for helping.
