I was thinking about a electric revo. i was going to get the electirc converision from Gorilla maxx. I was wondering if anyone has made the conversion and if they liked it? Also what motor/esc combos are you using?

Mate the Gorilla Maxx stuff is insane. If you visit the Traxxas forum you will see that several people have used this chassis and they all swear by it. I have just built an E-Maxx using heaps of Gorilla stuff and apparently the Revo destroys the E-Maxx. I say go for it, you can't go wrong. Use the single speed conversion too, it's worth it. For electrics use a decent servo (200oz of torque) and the Novak HV 4.5 brushless system with some good 7 cell packs. 0-45mph in under 3 seconds will have you destroying nitro powered vehicles all day long.

How much are the 7 cell batterys running? What will the single speed conversion do? my goal for this truck is just to have a fun basher truck and pretty good run times. so i think that the brusshless setup will be defanat. and thank for you help, it is greatly apprecitated

If you really want to get the most out of a brushless system, you're going to want to snag some of the new Li-ion packs that are coming out. They have a higher discharge rate so you'll get a significant amount more power. Most of them are higher capacity too so you'll find that, despite the higher discharge rate, you'll get similar run times.

The advantage of the single speed is less weight and it eliminates first gear which is basically useless anyway. It saves a lot of weight because it gets rid of the shifting servo as well as a few gears in the tranny and it's ultra smooth. 7 cells are good if your on a budget but if you want the best runtime and power then LiPo or Li-ion is the way to go. A pair of good 7 cell packs will give you about 20 mins of runtime at the most and you will probably get 30 on LiPo's while getting better performance. Be warned though, LiPo's are not for beginners and can be very temperamental. I would suggest getting a pair of 7 cell packs to start with and then if your not happy get some LiPo's. Any more questions juts ask and I will be happy to help.

I have tought about lipolys but i am not looking for any hassle. also my parents learned about them when they were still very new so they wont let me get any. plus they are quite expensive. i think i will go with the seven cell with the single gear set up and the brusless system. do u all use fans for ur engines? and also can u put them on a seperate battery so they do not use any more jucie than needed. U all are so awsome for helping me i apprectiate it so much.

The Novak brushless comes with a fan for the esc and the motor has a massive heatsink on it so as long as you gear it correctly it won't get too hot. Novak includes a gearing chart you can use so it takes all the guess work out of it. Check out www.maxamps.com for batteries as they have a great range of E-Maxx packs.

I'mm running an older (last Jan) set of 7 cell Maxxamps pacs. These were the 4000mah, they're now 4400mah. They've been awesome. Right now, I'm stuck between buying another set or going li-po. If I do get another set of NiMhs, they'll be Maxxamps.
