Hope maybe a few of you will have some input.
My brother and I bought a Warhead Evo each. We ran my brothers first. On the third tank of fuel the truck stopped dead in tracks. We looked at it and couldn't figure it out and moved the shifting servo back and forwards and so on. Then it seemed to roll ok. I tried to back it up in reverse and it did not work.
I tore the tranny down and the reverse gear mech was all chewed up. I called Hobby Services and they said they never have had that happen and sent us some new parts. When inspecting the parts I found the the slider part that comes out of the tranny for the reverse was not moving enough to disengage it so it rubbed while driving it. Well we got it all fixed up and adjusted the reverse collars, finished the break-in and got it all tuned. Now the truck is on it's 9th tank and the reverse is all chewed up again. Any of you had this problem.
It really is a poor design. I have several other brands of trucks with reverse and have never had them break. We never really used the reverse but maybe three times.
So I will be sending mine back to Tower Hobbies and will be calling Hobby Services to get a refund on the truck or an Exchange for a Traxxas product.

Thanks, Cory

Sorry you had problems. Can't say I'm real surprised what with all the problems the Warhead had. Too bad the WH EVO doesn't look like it's going to be that big an evolution.

Yeah, I am sorry to hear about the issue with the trucks. It will be a good move sending it back for a refund or a new truck. The LST or Revo or Savage X are all good bets, but the Warhead has been dissed a fair amount here for it's poor design and numerous customer problems. The Evo is the same deal, just a few little touches to make people think that it is a better truck (which it isn't). You've been here since 2001, and only posted twice?! I am surprised you haven't seen the few threads concerning the WH. Regardless, you'll be infinitely happier with one of the 'good' trucks.

Thanks for your response guy's. I havn't been on here much due to I got into Airplanes and havn't done much with the trucks. I got back into the Nitro and thought the Warhead would be a good deal. The features looked good for the money but I was sorta questioning the Duratrax thing. My brother and I wanted to get the same trucks to run together. I sent back his new in the box one and the lemon one is shipping out this friday.
Another problem we found was the end of the CV axles where they meet the drive cup are all paper thin. This truck has about 10 tanks of fuel through it or maybe 12. 5 of them were break in. The steering servo saver arm is starting to break also. I drove it in the dirt alittle. I don't know what to say but that it is poor Quality and needs to be made better or don't even make it.
I will be requesting a full refund from Hobby services and then we will go with the LST2. I always raced Losi stuff from 1996 to 2000 and they were always good quality. I just never had a problem like this. Hobby Services acts like they have never heard of these problems. They said when testing the EVO they ran 10 trucks for 80 hours each and din't have hardly any problems. They said that's more time than most people run these in the life of their truck.

thanks, Cory

get the LST2 you will be very very very very very impressed, with performance, durability, and the nice synth controller.

Well. I wanted to let everyone know that I sent the Warhead Evo back and they did credit me back the full amount on the truck. Hobby Services inspected it and issued a refund through Tower Hobbies. I have since then bought a LST2. I can only say that the LST2 is Awesome! I have ran almost a gallon of fuel through it and no problems.

Good luck. I would not really reccommend it to anyone.
I have been really enjoying my LST2 and have since then bought a Muggy.
I have not had one issue with the LST2 and have ran a gallon of fuel through it so far.
