I'm interested in using this exhaust. It says it will be loud. I just want it for kick and giggles. Will there be any side-effects to my motor? Any harm? I know I would have to retune, but i was wondering if I have i should be worried about any engine damage.

i think it looks sweet i dont see how it would harm your motor
Looks cool, maybe the only thing that could harm your motor is excessive heat but I wouldn't worry too much.

do NOT buy this...please don't do this...
I've done it and mannn...20bucks waste.
yes, it's noisy...but it runs like crap and harmful for the engine.

if you dont tune the engine to it, it will most likely harm the engine.. but with teh right tune it SHOULD be fine. i have ne experience. thats my $0.02

The does work with 4-stroke engines, but with 2-Stroke engines, the back pressure developed in the pipe is neccessary to pressurize the fuel tank and scavenge the remaining fuel/air mixture to conserve on lost/escaping fuel. The reason its so loud is because of the pipe being straight and not "chambered" in any way. Look at Any 2-stroke engine, and see what the exhaust looks like. Its always "shaped" or chambered to get that supercharging effect from 2-stroke engines. Take off the Cataylic Converter on your car/truck/van, and it'll sound like a wide opened carb from a Harley, but the engine will run slower. Check it out on the net if you don't believe it. No offence.

Yes, its a back pressure thing, the way i see it, if there isnt enough backpressure, and its just a flow through pipe(designed for a 4stroke engine) it can't create a big enough vacume in the fuel tank, and it makes the engine run lean, i dont know the physical effects, but i would think it just looses lubrication, but possibly will increase performance.

it has to do more with the bouncing of sound waves in the pipe to create the presure... to go into more depth

with the larger pipe going to the smaller pipe and all the bends in that pipe there will be plenty of pack pressure a carb adjustmen and it will be fine.

That's true. And it's not really to put back pressure into the fuel tank. Though that's a small portion of it, if the exhaust pressure passes by where the nipple is for the exhaust line pick-up, chances are there's enough force to push it through to the fuel tank. The real advantage of having a tuned pipe is the non-burnt fuel being pushed back into the motor. On a two stroke motor, there is a period of time where the intake and exhaust ports are open at the same time. This means there's time for the fresh fuel to go straight through to the exhaust port. That's really where the "back pressure" is necessary.
The size of one pipe going into another doesn't have as much effect as you might think. Look at a high end tuned pipe. It's a smaller pipe going into a larger one (header -> Pipe). It has more to do with the shape of the cones (the opening into the pipe from the header, and at the end of the pipe) balanced with the diameter and length of the single pipe.
