I have a lot of experience in flying glow and electric RC planes, and want to give electric copters a try. Does anyone have opinions on these two copters? Any insight you can give me would be great.

I can't help you with Axe CP too much, escept to say that it's not as easy to fly as the Blade(that is if it flies anything in real life as it does on realflight sim). I can tell you that the Pro is not an easy heli to master, but when you do, you will be able to fly anything out there, because my Raptor hovers way easier than the Pro. now I made the mistake of buying the CX and eventually upgrading to Pro specs, so deffinitely buy the Pro with a few pairs of flat bottom blades to learn on. I've only been flying helis for 6 months and I've already advanced to my Raptor nitro, mostly because of my Blade and sim training. learn your basics on the Pro and learn any 3D and aerobatics on the sim......it's well worth it on crash savings. the other benefit of the Blade is that it is cheap to crash and believe me, you WILL crash. just don't be discouraged....your learning curve will come quickly if you stick with it. ask any questions you may have and I'll do my best to help if and where I can

Thanks for the reply. I have decided on the Blade CP Pro, but my wife won't let me have it 'till Christmas!!! I have been trying Heli's on Real Flight G3, and after some early over control issues, have settled down to where I am feeling a lot more comfortable doing something other than hovering. I have also already laid in a supply of spare parts, expecting to crash. It's all part of the fun. I'll let you know how I do once on the real thing.

just remember the basics here...........learn to walk before you run. when you think you are proficient at hovering, keep practicing because it is so important to every other part of heli flying. also, small movements are the key and when you have the heli moving in the direction you want, a small opposite movement is required to counteract the unwanted movement. just watch the rotor disk and you'll see what I'm talking about. hope this helps. keep practicing and you'll get it. don't get discouraged. afterall, crashing helps you learn about the mechanics of the heli. good luck.

If you are looking at a Blade CP Pro or an Axe CP...you should also look into the Hobby Lobby Falcon 3D ...It's is RTF for $299.00 and comes with a Brushless Motor, seprate reciever a good HH Gyro, Shaft drive tail and Lypo battery...It flies Great out of the the box. I think it is the best flying RTF micro in it's class.
No Tail Motor!!!..Great little Heli....Lots of Metal upgrades available but not needed for sport flying or normal 3D.
Happy Flying,
Lacey
