Rex, is that one of the new china hulls? Sure looks good. How about some pics of the inside & some outside measurements for us.:)

not sure where it hails from(got it from fuller's) one lable inside reads 'delta force' another 'export dealer rcworldwide'. length 25.5" beam 7.625". heh right now the only thing inside is the inner surface of the hull(and air). still trying to figure out how the hardware itself is assembled(no diagrams or instructions)

rex-to answer the question from your e-mail.....install the motor and stuffing tube the same as in your previous hulls. let some of the stuffing tube extend into the strut a little bit. i trust the "input" of the strut is bored large enough to allow that and still be adjustable. keep your cg in mind when you get ready to put in the motor mount. shoot for 27-30% from the transom for CG right now, that will be fine tuned with the batteries when we get that thing to the pond. to answer the servo question, what i've been doing is building up a sort of platform from balsa to lift the servo up off the floor, and flatten it out. then i just used household goop to stick the servo down to the platform. you could also do one similar to my LSH servo mount, and i could get you a pic.

BD> stuffing tube gotcha.
so now I've had a chance to really look the boat over... if you've never built one before buying one unassembled might not be a good idea, unless you have an expirienced boat builder you can ask for help. that said, what didn't come with mine, brass stuffing tube, no velcro, no antenna straw(or mount), and no cooling lines. none of these things is a biggie(and to be honest, it would be hard to get them in the right amount for each customer). the hardware looks to be very nice(appears to be from Ray's precision line), the rudder blade(wedge) is almost sharp enough to shave with. the turn fins(Al) could use some sharpening, but could be used as is. one bit of bother I noticed, the rudder mount's hole for the pushrod boot on mine was about 1/32" undersize(could be just an oversize boot for that matter) so I needed to enlarge the hole a bit. offhand I would say check the fit first before grabbing the drill.

Rex ,nice looker. Can we get a shot of the inside, rear, bottom and transom? I was wondering if it was a shallow or deep vee..

Rex R

it would be classified as a deep vee as the hull angle is 45degrees. was trying to figure out where to mount the motor... a few observations; motor looks downright tiny, for that matter a 6cell pack does too. looks like it will have to be a saddlepack config blessed hull is bow heavy. thinking to accent the hull with orange(blaze)(maybe that will suffice to keep it from looking like a buoy :))

yeah, I hear that that color tends to make you a target and leave scars your paint... LOL!!

a boat without scars is like an arm without tattoos!!! i came back from one race with 3 new colors of paint on one of my boats :D

'Scars prove the battle, as sweat proves the effort'-oath of gold by Elizabeth Moon. swapping paint is one thing... prop/rudder tracks are a different matter

Rex R? Why does it seem that BoatDoc may have "buzzed" your deck before?!

Rex R

er, because he did. I had just rolled the boat and was going to let the traffic go by before(this was before I found a decent prop*) re-entering the race...
*at the time my boat took 'forever' to get back on plane once the cells had some run time on them. I suspect that had I been running a different stub shaft and strut it might have been otherwise.

are you going to take the lipo plunge on this one? might be a good chance to do it. if you don't do it right away, it might be a perfect boat to switch over later.

Rex R

heheh that was sorta the idea. one of the Q's I had for Ray was the suitability of the hull for Lipo's(guess you know what he said :)). started the tedious process of painting the hatch, not much to see, just brown primer and blue tape.

Rex R

got the hatch painted, still needs a couple more coats of clear.

I always put a gt stripe on my cars. Takes a second off the lap times...lol

Rex R

dunno bout speed... was a tad concerned about the possibility of folks 'bump drafting' :) think I like the brit term 'go faster stripes'. gotta dig out my french curve before I paint the deck. amazing what clear gloss will do for a 'flat' finish(well that and some super fine steel wool(0000), note; wait at least 24 hours after painting before using steel wool(that includes smoothing the primer coat))
