I just got a 1:18 Mini-LST RTR with the 1100 mAh battery, and picked up two spare batteries all as a gift for my girlfriend's son. I have heard that the charger is very slow, not to mention the fact that it's 120V so there's no provision to use it at the track. I'd like to buy a charger that is faster, works on 120V and 12V, and can plug into the cigarette lighter.

I bought a couple of jumpers to mate the smaller batteries to the regular size battery charger, but the one charger I saw that did everything I wanted it to said "good for 1200 mAh and up" batteries. Is this going to cause me a problem with the 1100s I have already?

I use a Dynamite Vision peak 2 to charge my mlst packs. I set it on 1 amp and it does the job no problems. It takes about 30 to 45 min, depending on much juice is left in them.

And that one has a cigarette lighter plug? I can't seem to find a pic of the plugs online.

the vision peak doesn't have a cigarette lighter plug, but it has clips to hook up to a car battery.

Oh, by the way, I'm a complete newbie here, and any links you can provide would help me out a whole lot in understanding what we're talking about.

Is the one amp setting on chargers like the Vision Peak and such okay for these batteries since the charger was meant to charge receiver packs at that voltage?

lol noones answered the original question, No it SHOULDNT be a problem, if you can though set the charge current to 1A...no higher than that to protect the pack.

When you are charging though, just make sure you keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt get too warm during charge. the reason it says dont charge lower than that is because the peak is harder to detect but i think it should still be fine.

As for the cigerette lighter plug, I have never seen a charger that came with one. I have made one myself though, just pick up a cigarette lighter plug from radio shack.
