Hi guys,

New to the boards here (and to giant scale!), and I was hoping to get some input on a motor choice. I've got the Top-Flite Stinson Reliant ordered (100" span, 16-25 lb.) and the instructions say not to overpower it. Would the Zenoah G26 be enough motor?

I'm looking for decent climb rate, scale-type flying with maybe the occasional aileron roll thrown in. I know it's a draggy airframe, but I'll try to keep the weight on the light side.

Also, has anyone out there built one?

Thanks!

If the plane calls for a 1.40 To 1.60, it should be enough for scale flying ,but wont' be a cloud burner!

I've built two. Very stable, nice flying airplanes. I powered my first with a Moki 1.8 glow (they're known as 'Mark' engines now)--slightly overpowered. In my second, I used an OS 1.60 two stroke (single-not the twin) with a Bisson muffler. The perfect combination! You really don't need a gasser in this airplane unless you want one.
