Hey Guys, PLEASE ADVISE!!!!
Git the RC bug also. Have been looking at several options to buy. Could you help. I know i want to run off-road on dirt tracks in Dallas. Where are they?
Also whats most people running? truggie or buggie? 1/8 or 1/10? Nitro or Elec?
I want the best bang for the buck without over spending. (like when i bought a 600 paintball gun thats really no better than everyone elses 100 gun)
I have been looking at
HPI Nitro MT2 18ss $329
MBX5R prospec Buggy kit $600
Muggy 4wd RTR w/ xr21 & 427 $529
OFNA ultra LX comp $289
What do you recommend? Or think would be better.
I have a nitro street car(barely used so im new to nitro still)

Okay, let's work our way through this:
Where in Dallas are you located? There are three or four very good indoor dirt tracks, one in Garland (Indy R/C), one off of 35 just north of 635 on the west outer road, one off Sherman just north of 635 (Speed R/C, closed now but will reopen)
The 1/8 nitro buggies have the most competition with truggies slowly catching up.
If you want the most bang for the buck and race upgradeable RTR's, stay with the OFNA line. Most of their parts are interchangeable from one buggy/truggy to the other and there's TONS of after-market stuff available.
The Losi Muggy is probably the most race-ready RTR on the market and, in my humble opinion, the best made. You will get what you pay for with that choice.
Best thing to do is come out to Indy R/C on Saturday nights and be a spectator for the races. Ask a lot of questions and we'll do the best we can to help. Here's their web-site: http://www.indyrcworld.net/

Ya I went to Indy last tuesday. It only further fueled my want. I also talked to the shop they said the Muggy is a good truggy, but the jammin is alittle better. I also talk to a guy that "may" sell his mbx5t with spectrum radio and tools for a 1000. But hes still on the fence on weather or not to sell. Maybe you have seen it. They called the guy grandpa. Do you think thats a good deal?

So speeds RC closed again?
There is a nice outdoor RC track in Euless also, Johnny Cool Guys http://www.johnnycoolguy.com/ .
Of course we still don't know where in Dallas your coming from, so that may be a little bit of a drive. I still have not been to Indy RC for that reason, it's too far for a casual drive out there to Garland (over an hour away).
There is also Wild Bills in Irving, but he only has a dirt oval.
And then there is Mikes RC off of 35E north in Lewisville, but they only do electric indoors.
I agree with cosmicpossum assessment on the Ofnas, but please stay away from the Lx Comps, they are old tech and the Kingpin front suspension they use is known for breakage. SInce your looking in the price range anyway look at the Hyper 8 RTR or the Jammin RTR (both less than $500 usually). If your looking towards the truggies try the Jammin CRT or the new Hyper ST ( http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/product_car.php?productId=0000001938&menu=CAR&subMenu=CR-KIT )
I have heard good things about it from one of the team drivers.

First, I live in Addison.
Second I did it. I bought the mugen MBX5T prospect with a spectrum radio and 0.26 engine, jr9000t and 9000s servos. Figured i rather spend the money now, versus upgrading later. This guy selling one didnt sell it, but I did so much research, I had to buy it. (Not to bad Total 1497.00 for everything) I spend most of the holiday putting it together. Should be able to run it saturday. See you all there.
