Well, I work at a hobby shop and have been secretly training myself on RealFlight for a few months nows and can do inverted hovers and cutting the grass and a few other tricks in simulation so I figured it was time to try out a real heli.

I picked up a T-Rex 450SA with JR radio components (500T gyro, 285s and a 3400, etc) on a DX6 with the 6V setup. And am down to the final stages of assembly. I tried to find a decent T-Rex site, but found most of the boards were people with strong (often uneducated) opinions and so figured i'd try here.

Still need to grab an ESC and a few batteries, but it's at least looking feasible now. Any setup tips I should be aware of? Recommended upgrades (any excuse for aluminum or CF is good enough for me!) Really anything I should be aware of, i'll probably read around a bit and pick up what I can, but figured if I could get some direct help it'd be great.

I've been, the site does have terrific info in the form of reviews and other items but the forum is severely lacking in the people environment in my opinion. Besides being a very slow moving forum from what I saw, a lot of people weren't interested in discussion as much as showing off what they had and telling people who didn't have it how they wasted money. Didn't seem like my kind of place forum wise (although i've read about every article on there)
