I am thinking of setting up a small booth inside my house but I have to take into account a couple things of course.

1) Kits I'm looking at:
http://airbrushcity.com/kits24/popular_starter2.htm (the $179 one)
http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/ (the $129 one)

2) Ventilation is a little tricky - I really can only assume that airbrush paint stinks so it will require me to have a lot of ventilation for the smell as well.

3) My little work station is actually in the boiler room (which is relativly small) So with the hot water heater and the boiler, you gotta watch fumes. So I'm wondering about how flamible air brush paints are?

I plan to section off the room a little more with some plastic sheets and stuff but still need to make sure I can do everything else first.

I guess rather than paying someone 30 bucks to do it for me, I'm debaiting about doing it myself considering I have a graphics degree I don't use anymore ;)

Ideas?

Acrylic [Parma] paints don't smell, they don't have major vapours, also not flammable.

The only reason we wear respirators is because when you're trying to paint in a body you will likely end up breathing the air out of it. But if you're a few feet away airbrushes are harmless.

All it does is misting paint and air.

well as stated above water based airbrush paints have no flamable fumes as for odor it's actually very mild unless your useing laquer based paints then the fumes are a bit overpowering.
For ventalation with water base paints it's not a big deal but you do want some air exchange, with laquer based paints it's a must.

There are several water based paints out there that are known to work well with lexan
Faskolor by parma available at your LHS in most cases
Createx found at most craft stores, ebay, online art stores. It is widely accepted that createx is the actually supplier of the paint that parma relabels as FAskolor and it generaly goes for half the price of Faskolor.
AutoAir by Createx can be found at automotive paint shops as well as some craft and art shops. Has several colors not found in the regular createx line of paints.

Now there are others water based paints out there that work with lexan these are just the ones that I have first hand knowlage with.

In laquar based paints there are again several choices
Spaz-Stix awsome line of paints ready to spray straight from the bottle
Alclad 2 same as above.

Again there are others but I mainly use water based paints.

as for your chose of airbrush I personally check to see if they have a replacement tip larger then .2 mm say at least .3mm up to .5mm especially if you plan to spray water base paint.

As for the compressor it looks like it could do the job, But with compressors bigger is always better that unit looks to be about 2 gallons I would look for at least a 6 gallon 1HP unit. every few weeks target has them on sale for under 100$.
Also don't forget to get a moisture trap and if you want a set of quick connects for the airbrush hoses and compressor.

For more indepth information on everything about airbrushing R/C's check out this site very helpfull people and a wealth of information www.cfxpaintworks.com

also the resperator is to help keep the paint out of your lungs regardless if it's waterbase or laquer that and saftey glasses are a must.
