These competitions have come a long way in four years (Yeah we have been doing these since March of 2003, I believe). The instructions are 5 times as long and I call my lawyer everytime we need to abridge a rule. We have lost a lot of great painters some lost the interest or the time, others lost more than that. But 75+ percent of the entrants each month had absolutely no idea it was over a year before we stopped numbering each competition. It is great to see new faces learning and practicing the techniques from the Pros and seeing the pros get so good we needed to redefine a pro to keep up with
their skills.
And now the 2007 Schedule.
January – Open Paint Competition
February – Concourse (Detailed Body) Competition
March – Open Paint COmpetition
April – Themed (Like a sponsor car, but without numbers. This can be existing companies, made up companies, sports teams, cartoons etc. No pritty abstract designs!)
May – Open Paint Competition
June – Open Paint Competition
July – Red, White and Blue (Doesnt have to be patriotic, use as many colors as you like, but RWB must be the three promenent colors.)
August – Concourse (Detailed Body) Competition
September – Open Paint competition
October – Racing. Whatever a racing body should be in your mind.)
November – Open Paint Competition
December – TBD.
This schedule is not set in stone. I’m more than willing to add a few special competitions or change the existing schedule. If you have ideas, feel free to post them. The ultimate goal of this year is to continue learning from one another and keep having fun.
