View Full Version : Is my Mamba Max dying?

New years day, I was showing my brother my Mambafied XXX-T, and during the course of the run, started experiencing really strange glitching. I did not drive through water or crash. I was simply running in the street, as I've done a hundred times before when it started acting up. Symptoms of which are as follows:

-Cannot reverse. Whenever attempted, the truck rolls back about two inches, then surges forward a foot or two. You simply cannot drive in reverse.

-Attempts to go full throttle or full brake cause extreme stuttering in the motor and severe servo glitching.

-The above symptoms don't seem to be affected by range.

I'm running an orion 4800 lipo, so battery voltage isn't an issue. I've switched radios to no avail. I've calibrated each radio a dozen times. Any ideas? I've checked both the reciever and ESC for debris, and both were clear. How would I go about getting this thing looked at by CastleCreations? I've had this system since the middle of summer with no problems, so I hope this isn't something serious. Thanks.

-Mike

Edit: I forgot to add that my ESC now gets hot after just a minute or so of running. I used to be able to run a whole battery and have it barely get warm.

Its possible the bec on the controller is playing up but tbh it might just be that the controller have died on you i suggest you contact the guys at castle as they will sort you out.

Must be something with th XXX-t and brushless. My novak never gliched on my T1 but every once in a while the motor does exactly what you described in the XXX-T. That is flipping weird!

mine does indeed have a graphite chassis, but if the graphite were a problem, it would have been one long before now. Like i said, I've been running this setup since mid summer.

Sounds like a few Fets may have packed it in, call Castle and I am sure they will take care of you.

Demon no offence but you would do your reputation less damage if you read the thread starters post before making suggestions.

He stated quite clearly that he tried it with a multitude of radios and calibrating the esc a number of times.

In demons defense, I'm sure he's referring to the actual programming of the ESC with the castlelink software, not simply calibrating the radio. Regardless, I've done all the easy, common sense type stuff already.

Yea i was talkin about reprogramming the actual speed controller which i didnt see you had done. if one of the speedo settings itself is out (throttle and breaks are not linear with movement of stick) thats the sort of behaviour you'd get. still if its done my guess is the speedo is bad. :wave:

B = battery
E = elimantion
C = circuitry
it eliminates the need for a battery to power your reciever and servos.
