Ok so today i swapped out my novak ss5800 system from my evader and dropped it into my tc4 rtr i got for christmas, just for fun you know? I took it out for a spin and holy crap it was going crazy. I mean i know it comes with a cheapo radio but man i couldnt even drive it at half throttle without it veering off in some random direction. Im probly gonna end up buying a better radio anyway but im wondering if any of you guys might have a fix to this so i can run the car while the order comes in. I was thinking about buying a novak "glitch buster" capacitor as well. Anybody else experience this?? Im open to any and all suggestions lol. :D

Others, myself included, have had issues with SS5800 glitching. I love the system to death, but it can get a little wacko at times.
Twist or bundle the 3 big power wires together, and keep them far away from the bundle of sensor wires. You can shorten the power wires too, but of course you'd have to make sure they weren't too short for your Evader. Move your antenna far away from the ESC if possible.

Had the same problem almost, try isolating the receiver from the chassi with foam or something- Worked perfect for me. :D

I've heard that Novak can be a huge help with eliminating the glitch! Maybe try e-mailing them?

I always had problems with my ss5800 system and radio glitches. the main thing I would suggest is getting the esc and the receiver as far apart as possible, this includes keeping the antenna away from the ESC, motor wires and battery wires. Try putting the ESc on the battery strap and the receiver on the servo. Twist your motor wires or atleast keep them bundled together and do the same with the battery wires if you can. Don't put the receiver near the motor either.

I called Novak yesterday due to glitching and they told me that radio interfeerence caused by lesser radios and recievers can cause glitching in brushless ESCs. I'm using the Junior XR2i. Thats an ok radio but they sugested I upgrade it when I get a chance.

There could be other sources to this problem. However, in a sedan setup you always run into electronics jammed very close together. I ran a Novak ss5800 for 2 years in a Team Losi MF1 on a Futaba 2PL without any glitching.
So I would try isolating the reciever like they said

Coat the receiver with tinfoil. That should help. Make sure you shrink it afterwards so there's no chance of the tinfoil shorting anything nearby out.:D At the very least, it'll look space age cool.

LOL pretty weak answer. The SS controller is the only one I have ever had problems with using a cheaper radio (even rtr radios). It isn't the lesser radio that causes the glitches, it is the the all the junk that the ESC radiates and causes problems. Another thing you can try is to use a receiver pack, just remember to pull the red wire out of the ESC connector that goes into the receiver.

Just isolate the reciver as I said, it works. The glitching ocurs when the motor makes a sertan "sound" at a specific rpm. The sound or vibrations spreads to the chassi and to the recever and you have glitching. So by isolating the recever from the chassi you'll solve this problem.
