View Full Version : Fuel tank clunks - too close?

What difference does it make if the clunk in a tank is real close to the rear of the tank. I've heard many reasons why this is NOT a good thing to do, but leave the clunk 1/4-/1/2" FROM the rear of the tank.

Your comments????

If it's too close to the rear, it can get hung up. Since the clunk is attached on a flexible hose, it acts like a pendulum and can get hung against the back side of the tank at it's apogee. I've actually had this happen a time or two. Leaving the clunk 1/4" short of the bottom and back side corner is the safest way to avoid that happening.
