So, if both the Savage and the T-Maxx show up, can we get them to do a good old fashioned tug-o-war?

FYI: Dennis Anderson claims Kill Devil Hills, NC as his home, but the race will be at diggers dungeon in Poplar branch. (some people booked hotels in KDH last year, thinking that would be the best place) the bottom of this link has directions: http://www.gravedigger.com/dungeon If there are others coming with you, they may want to check out: http://www.outerbanks.org/ so they can plan things to do while you are breathing nitro. I know I'm updating this a LOT, but it is growing bigger every day. ie. Chances are looking at about 99% that the full size Tmaxx, driven by CVH (Carl Van Horn) will be there, which of course means more prizes, and coverage. Should have more definate plans by the weekend. Oh, tug of war probably not going to happen b/c the Savage ride truck is a souped up street motor probably making about 600 HP, the full size Tmaxx is a racing motor with closer to 1700 HP. But if HPI and Traxxas want to do an RC tug of war... I have many more "irons in the fire" but until I hear for sure, gotta keep em under wraps.

I have had a few requests to enter HPI's Wheely king, and or Traxas Stampede's.
After careful consideration, there will not be a class for these trucks. Sorry, but both days of the event are going to be jam packed as it is. Have to draw the line somewhere. Dennis will still be happy to autograph your Stampede and or Wheely king body if you bring it by though. or any other RC for that matter.
www.outerbanks.org has lots of info on the area. The event is in poplar branch which is not on the outer banks. Check out location before you book reservations.

How big is clodbuster sign up so far?
haugbucs
02-10-2007, 11:16 PM
9 of the 12 trucks in the modified electric are using clod buster components (axels). Modified electric is our 2nd biggest class. Big block nitro is the biggest with 16. These numbers don't sound that big right now, but last year we went from 40 trucks to 80 in the last week of registration.
Ball racing, you were there last year, what did you think? last years event was put together in about 6 weeks. This year we have 5 months.

Hey guys, this is obviously one of the largest MT events of the year that I’m going to miss out on again mainly being that I live in the most isolated cities in the world (Perth Western Australia) & the cost of travel & accommodation is way out of my reach.
What are the chances of you guys sponsoring me, an aussie to come up race against you guys & make this an international event.

The official Monster Jam hot seat will be shipped to the dungeon for this event. Just like the big boys- a giant prize will be awarded for a racer who doubles down, aka winning the racing and freestyle. This prize will be "bigger than the $500 cash for the freestyle winner"

Maybe fear of commitment??? Or, Slayden is afraid of being beat by a Savage.
haugbucs
03-31-2007, 10:48 PM
I contacted Steve Slayden 2 months ago and made a few phone calls to Traxxas. I have not chased them down, b/c HPI has always provided everything I need for an event of this size. I will not turn down sponsors, but I think we already have well over $5000 in prizes and that does NOT include the $500 cash for freestyle or double down MEGA prize. i am working on opening a new class- now that the wheely king comes in 4x4, we may allow it as the "icebreaker class" and have Dennis race vs Adam etc. this would attract some more of the younger crowd too. Any feedback on WK class? i'm working on closing deals with Airtronics, and Inside RC today. I dropped some $$$ on a countdown clock for the freestyle. Again, just like the real thing. 125 trucks registered from 15 states. On May 1st we had 75 ish trucks, entires are beginning to pick up. Sorry it's so long, but lots of stuff is falling into place nicely.

Now, how cool is that. Could you imagine beating Dennis or Pablo or Meents and being able to tell your kids you can drive better than them? (just forget to tell them that it was RC rather than full size) It would be a good chance to network and meet people that work on and drive the big trucks. Who knows, maybe you will be a mechanic or driver someday yourself and you will know who to get in touch with. Plus, it sounds like just a good time all around.
haugbucs
04-25-2007, 10:09 AM
We made a call to Tom Meents at last years event during the freestyle to rub it in that Dennis puts on a better show. I don't think he will be in attendance, but I can guarantee at least 10 Monster jam drivers or crew workers will be racing. Holy pit party Batman! hmmm, maybe I should call my old buddy John S. Those that know monster trucks, know who I am talking about.

Ok, this will probably be one of my last posts. This event grows EVERY DAY! here is the short and sweet version of what has been happening.
-We will be raffling off an HPI Savage X. The funds raised will be given to the Navy Special Warfare foundation. Retired Navy SEAL Rudy Boesch of TV's Survivor will be at the opening ceremonies to promote the foundation. You do NOT need to be present to win. I can ship the truck worldwide. email me if you would like to contribute. rcmonstermotorsports@yahoo.com
-The fleet manager of all the full size monster trucks at Gravediggers Dungeon, has confirmed that all of the trucks at the shop will be out at the event!!
-Check out the new Savage X 4.6 at www.hpiracing.com
-The full size T-Maxx will be at the event.
-Attendance is free and the outer banks of NC is a great place to vacation on Memorial day.
-TONS AND TONS OF PRIZES from shock covers to RTR trucks!
-There will be two groups of people on May 28th 1) those that went to the best R/C event in history, and 2) those that wish they would have gone.

HPI, Traxxas, numerous media guys, Rick Brake, STS engines have already signed on to be AT the 2008 event. Like I said, there were those who attended and raced alongside racing legends, cleaned up on $15,000 in prizes, and got their faces in 3 mags, and then there were thoe that wish they could have gone!!!!!!!!!! Look for the 2008 event to have no limits!!
