Hi there, just bought myself a tatty but original Tamiya Grasshopper off ebay. Lovely white wheels have been sprayed Flourescent orange and yellow. I've had them soaking in Brake fluid for about 4 hours and only some of the paint has loosened (more the orange than the yellow!!!) and I was wondering whether the brake fluid could damage the plastic if I left it in there too long? Any tips? I would like to strip the body too but I may just sand it down.

Thanks, I found that the brake fluid did affect the plastic wheels a little as they felt like they had Plastic Cement model glue on them. I quickly removed them from the fluid scrubbed with a coarse pad - not too coarse - and then popped them in the dishwasher.
Results are it worked, but I wouldn't leave it in there overnight. Most of the paint has come off. I'll have to spray them white anyway.

If the paint chips off at all - you could bring them to a sandblaster and probablty have them completely cleaned off for free, or for like a buck or two.
