Hi, just have to post my brushless buggy on this forum as well.

Ive build a CEN Matrix PRO with:
* Mamba max ESC
* HBEC bec
* Feigao 7XL
* 2 x team orion platinum lipos (4s total)

And here it is:

Film clips here:

It has got a 50-50 weight distribution, left/right and 45-55 front/back. When I built it I wanted to modify it as little as possible and also to keep the battery at one side of the car. And I’m pretty happy with how it came out, it was so much fun to drive! :) In the film clips it’s geared for 65 km/h. That’s like 41mph, will try higher speeds later on when I have more pinions, but I think this was a good bash speed. And everything worked perfect :)

So what do you guys think?

That looks nice! It looks really cool on that Field Turf you are on, because it gives it a nice rooster tail off the back end! Nice work! The conversion looks clean and professional. The only thing I wonder about is with the batts that way standing up, are you putting you center of gravity up too high, or does it still handle pretty well? Again, nice job!!!

Nice! I haven't got the vids to work yet....

41mph is a good speed... 50+mph is cool and fun too, but not practical for normal use, track or bashing. I run mine geared for about 45mph for fun sometimes, but usually it's geared lower for mid-30's.

Do yo have the Kyosho plastic spur? What pinion are you running?

Any cogging at all?

Good Job. I have a roller on the way via ebay and have a couple questions.
I see you retained the front brake (Only??). Do you use the electric motor braking as well ??

My failing eyes can't tell if that's a Mod1 pinion or a modified clutchbell as pinion.

Also what mah batteries are those and have you any run time data for general bashing ....heat issues..etc....
thanks in advance

Chachi_RC, thanks, the battery pack aren't that high, the top of them are level with the "top plate" on the center diff. So I would think the center of gravity is stil lower then on a nitro buggy.

glassdoctor, thanks, Ive fixed the vid now so they should work better, wma format and much smaller. Otherwise the vids(mpeg) can also be downloaded from here: http://smail.dyndns.org/blbuggy/ The three first ones are my buggy and the to last ones are NIC:s buggy geared for 80km/h(50mph) And yes Ive got the kyosho plastic 46T spur. And I run a 13t mod1 pinion. 41mph feels like a good speed yes, but I allways wan't tp push my stuff some. :)

pinolelst, thanks, I got no brakes from the motor, only the 2 steel disc:s in the front, 10 000 wt diff oil in the center diff. Braking with a servo, it works very good. Really happy with it, I both save runtime and stress my esc/batts/motor less.

Heat issues: none what so ever, barely warm after the test run, thou I didn't run it that hard. :rolleyes:

Runs time: I'd say 20mins give or take a few, depending on how/where you drive what gearing etc, but you should make 20 with the gearing I had in the vids. The batterys have 4800mah.

Very nice conversion!

Can you show a close-up of your motor mount?

Did you fabricate it or did someone do it for you? If so who?

Thanks,

It's a Trinity E-Maxx motorplate, 4.8mm think. :)

I "dremeled" it to fit so to say...

I put some pictures here:

I allso have some B4 battery spacers under the motor(not shown on this pics) not to get any flex, seems to work good: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX3204&P=Z

Cool....

Does the kyosho 46t spur bolt right up to the Matrix center dif.?

jepp, it's a bolt on

Nice conversion - really well done. If the edges of the motor plate were anodized to match, you'd never know it was a modded plate. I was impressed at how fast it was - the acceleration is unreal.

These have another real advantage in that they make no real noise and are super neighbor friendly! I'm in planning stages on a large scale BL but around a hybrid E-Revo. Cool!

thanks,

jepp, it's really nice with a lower sound level, very neighbor friendly. :)

What type/brand receiver and bec are you using?

I am experiencing really bad range glitching on my MM and 9xl that I am trying to troubleshoot.

Thanks.

Cool. I only wish I had a place like that to run my 1/10 with some nice trac-ta-gators or knobbies.:D

(In Florida, there's sand, sand, and more sand. Some st. augustine grass too, which is super thick stuff; thus- not ideal for 1/10 running).

Jepp, it's a very good place to test run buggies. :)

Pretty cool. I have a CEN Matrix and would love to make it brushless. Ever thought of selling the parts to do the conversion?

I think its Team FCR (scyan is his username on here i think) makes motor mounts and stuff for conversions. Cold Fusion used to, but he disappeared into oblivion or something. :confused:
