Hi. So far I had only some cheap airbrushes, and all of them broke after some time. I've been thinking about some really good stuff. Any opinions on that?

if i recall, this is the one hijacker uses,
http://www.iwata-medea.com/products/airbrush/revolution/cr_info.jsp
he said its about $80.00 or so, and after taking it on a "test ride"...i got to tell ya, althoguh i LOVED my VL, its just a nicer feeling brush. Bit more control, and overall, felt more comfortable.
Not taking a thing from the VL tho, ...l loved my Paasche, and still use the "H" series for all my painting right now. Even tho mine is a single action, ( oh how i miss my D/A) it still is an ecellent brush.
if and when i get another tho, it will be the revolution

so you say that VL is good airbrush.
How about nozzle and needle?? Is it made from strong material?
Needle and nozzle was main problem in cheap airbrushes.

i never had a lick of trouble with my VL. unfortunately, it might its untimely death due to a pipe falling on it. Long story. The VL is a larger brush, much like holding a big fat Marks-a-lot marker , where some of the other brushes are thinner, like a sharpie marker. Depends on what feels comfy to you. Not going to discourage you at all from the VL, i had great luck with mine. No needle or nozzle problems at all.
just dont set it in a holder on the edge of your bench, and watch in horror as a 30 lb. pipe falls, shearing it in half!!!

I also use an Iwata (HP-CS) and love the results. I would say stick to gravity feed over siphon, especially if you plan on shooting waterbased paints like Faskolors.
The Revolution CR is a killler AB for around $70. And, Iwata design is such that you can remove the tip cap and get in realllll close to the work for fine lines and details.

But my budget is about 70$ for airbrush, because half of price of airbrush is shiping so in real it costs me about 100$.
Are there 2 extra needles and nozzles with that Paasche VL set?

I have both the passche VL and an Iwate HP-CS both are great brushes it's all in what you do with them.
the VL comes with 3 needles and 3 nozzels 1 fine, 1 medium 1 large
I've used my VL for years with no issues (at least once I learned how to thin my paints) got the Iwata about 2 years ago and it's a great brush I feel it's constructed better then the VL but it does limit you as to what types of media you can spray thru it as in no glitter paints and don't ever think about spraying liquid mask thru it.
The VL needs a lil more attention when cleaning since it is a siphon feed brush but for a first brush or just for those on a budget it is a great brush and can do everything the Iwata can do just needs more though put into it since ypur spraying at a higher pressure.
Go for the VL and when time and finances allow step up to the Iwata as with all things R/C it's the painter that makes the brush not the other way around.

****, Lidz, i ordered paasche vl set yesterday :( but what's wrong with VL in your opinion?
I've got with paasche extra needles and nozzles - thats big "+" i think?
it's just not an Iwata.
Some people have great success with the VL. That's all Marty Korn ever used. Ed Roth made a living with one too. (though his was slightly "tuned")

There's nothing wrong, per se, with the Paasche VL. It's a good gun; it's just not as capable as some other guns out there, like the Vega2000 from Thayer & Chandler, or any gun from Iwata.

I myself used a VL for years before it finally wore out and forced my decision to try something else. I won't be going back.

There is nothing wrong with the Vl it is a quality brush, now with that said it is not in the same catagory as an Iwata but it is less tempermental and is overall a hardier peice of equipment and parts are easier to come by as well as cheaper.
I'm not sure how iwata parts support is in poland or passche for that matter but Iwata parts are almost double what the VL's are.
Think of in tearms of cars or gameing consoles each offers it's own unique advantages and disadvantages same applies to airbrushes, If you spraying mainly waterbased paint then the VL is less sensitive to correct thinning then the Iwata since the Iwata has a smaller needle.
Compared to the Iwata's the VL is an airhog since it is siphon feed as opposed to gravity feed.
Personnaly I prefer the feel of the VL over the Iwata HP-cs that I have mainly because the VL is a bit larger and heavier, I have big hands so it's more comfertable for me, the Iwata feels like it's not even in my hands since it's much slimmer and lighter, but it also tends to float in my grip a bit since it's so small. At the end of the day though it's all a matter of personal preferance, some will swear by one company over another but it's all based on personal preferance. Enjoy your new brush it will give you many years of service when you feel you've out grown it Then try something else.
Look forward to seeing some of your work with the new brush.

Ufff. Thanks guys. I'm feeling better now :)
If it doesn't work good for me, i'll sell it and then i'll buy an iwata airbrush.
I'll paint few bodies in February and put some pics here, so we'll see how it's going on :)
and back to parts: there are few shops in hole Poland which sell an airbrushes but there's maybe one which sells good brushes like Paasche, Badger, but i didnt see Iwata airbrushes here, maybe occasionally come out on Ebay but with cosmic price, like Iwata HP CR costs about 280$. Most of shops sells cheap, no name airbrushes which's broken up for about 5 painting left, and parts are very expensive.

I just got my VL yesterday, Local Shop is closing and paid $40 for it. Do I need a regulator for it? I just have a 1/2HP 1gallon compressor 100psi.
well, you can't paint at 100# if that answers your question, lol.

most compressors come with a regulator if yours doesn't come with one you'll need to get one.

Ok i went to harbor frieght, found a regulator for $6.99 and a Airbrush compressor for $75, its quiet.
Ok for can I spray Liquid mask? the bottle says I can, but it seems thick.
I'm a little excited to be doing something other than rattle cans.

you can spray the liquid mask but you'd be better off using a foam brush to apply 3-5 coats onto the body you plan to paint letting it dry between each coat.
if you already have a compressor why buy another one? if it's a small hobby type compressor most of them are only capable of 30psi and they run almost constantly so they need a fan on them to keep the temps down.
