I'm in the process of painting my first body, an HPI BMW M coupe. I searched through this and many other forums and read a handful of painting tutorials.

I then proceeded to start painting but I forgot to apply the window masks first.

Yes...I am an idiot...and very mad at myself right now :mad: .

So, with that out of the way, do I have any options at this point? Obviously I didn't plan on winning any awards with this but can I do anything to salvage it and make it look half way decent?

You have a chance to remove the paint already on there. What kind of paint did you use?

I used a pactra rattle can and got 2 good coats on before I realized what I'd done. What can I use to remove a lot of paint?

It's for an electric stampede. I threw on some long rear body mounts in hopes of going for a rally car look on my monster truck.

I did this once, I went to my LHS and bought some mirror tape (Chrome Tape mabe) and cut the windows to fit. WaaaLaa...chrome mirrored windows. I race with steve Sladyen here in Dallas.....He even said it looked trick........

Hey...not a bad idea. I was thinking of just painting the windows black, from the outside.

If you painted on the outside it would scratch off, thats why you paint on the inside in the first place. maybe you could find window stickers like on the rtr's, if the mirror does not work.

you could always cut out the window and sho glu in some window sscreen for the true offroader..

You can use nitro fuel to strip the paint off. It's a tedious process but do able.

Just dont smoke when your doing it... =P!! that has happend to me 1once. but I only got alittle bit of the windows. I just left it alone...

you also can use brake fluid to remove the paint but then again it will be tedious work

i think gt's idea was the best mirror tape or go to a sign shop and ask for any scraps of decals or car graphics they have made made n use that.

years ago when i painted my first body.for a trick look i did the sticker thing on the outside windows,i had redish pink for the front n purple for the sides.i got the stuff from my job years ago,they put up vinyl decals at my job so i took the excess stuff!

ps:i wish i had the other car in the background,it was a 4wd totally souped up boomerang i think,i bought it off my friend for 30 bucks with everything
