good system reccomendations

I am going to build a lipo/14 cell truggy out of a CRT, and I was wondering what system I should use, i was thinking maybe the Novak 6.5, would that be enough power for this truck? and gearing would be helpful advice too. I don't need insane power but just something that can hang with the nitro guys around a track. thanks a lot guys.

A popular setup has been a Feigao 8XL and a Mamba Max ESC. Cheaper, more powerful, and more adjustable than the HV-Maxx.

The Novak systems are too high-rpm for a 1/8 conversion imo. It's too bad they don't make a low-kv motor or it would be a fine entry level choice.

Bob, make a @2000-2200kv motor!!!! :) and make sure the speedo has 4s lipo cutoff.... I would buy one just out of curiosity.
