After getting a little "bored" with my RC trucks, I think I am going to try my hand at learning to fly a heli. I am ready for a new challenge. I have decided to buy a simulator first to save both $$ and frustration. I would rather learn/crash a virtual heli than a brand new real one. I am going to get the Real Flight G3.5 but don't know weather I should get Mode 1 or Mode 2. Which is mode more popular and how exactly are they different? As of right now I am thinking of getting and Heli-Max Axe CP in a month or two. My LHS sells them and has a good supply of repair parts in stock. Which is very important to me. I hate down time. When I buy it depends on how much time I can spend on the simulator and how fast I pick it up. I would like to orde this thing ASAP so please let me know! Thanks, BT

mode 1 is most cmmonly used in europe( throttle on the right stick). mode two is more common here( u.s.a.)with the throtle on the left stick. you can fly either way and in fact i`ve seen people that can fly both!! I don`t know that much about the heli-max axe-cp, other than it is included in the sim,(realflight 3.5) and flies pretty good. the bad aspect of this heli,(as i understand it )is the tail rotor motor. i`ve been advised by heli pilots that are more knowledgable than i, that a belt driven tail rotor is the way to go. if the tail motor goes out while you are in the air, you will most likley trash your bird!! other advise i`ve gotten includes get as many METAL parts as possible, plastic doesn`t last long in a crash. go with a brushless motor if you can, and a good strong lipo batt. And lastly, use your simulator, practice, practice, practice. i`ve crashed millions of dollars worth of aircraft on my sim, but it only cost me 199.99!!!!!

watch your six!!
