hey guys i need a little help, i have a 2 cell li-po pack that i forgot to unplug from my mamba system. is it beyond repair?
I plugged the charger to it, and it doesnt seem to be charging. is there any way to revive this battery so i could continue using it?
Thank you,
Russ

If LiPO batteries are left to deep discharge they usually cannot be brought back. Ive heard of rare instances where they accepted a charge after a deep discharge but capacity suffered as a result. LiPO batteries are so sensitive to over/under voltage that pretty much if you overcharge them or over discharge them theyre pretty much toast.

You might get some use out of it if you bring the voltage back up and get it to charge, but you have to be very careful... monitor it for any signs of puffing, etc.

Likely it will have at least lost some capacity and will die before too long... but you never know.

Use a nickel type charger to get some voltage into it and then charge with the lipo charger once the voltage is high enough.

If you deep discharged it, just put it on your charger at about 200mA, or even 100mA. Watch it for physical deformation. I have been successful in the past in reviving, to an extent, overdischarged lipo packs. The last 8000mAh pack I tried to revive would only take about 6800mA afterwards, but I'm still able to use it.

This has been advertised on one18th.com, but unless the batt is unplugged, there is still a drain on batt with a mamba 25 esc. I would guess its no different with the Mamba Maxx either. Batt has to be unplugged to prevent overdischarge if you're running lipo.

Tough lesson to learn.

Yeah, I ruined some good Thunder Power's this way in my Mini Inferno. I was able to get them to accept a charge again, but the packs were swollen. They seemed to run fine, and even the capacity seemed good, but from what I've read it would only be a matter of time to a catastrophic failure at that point, so I just replaced them.
