Well I broke my XXXT AGAIN yesterday. This was the most costly crash. I called Novak and they said its common(lost of people calling them about it) for the reciever to "flutter" the throttle which is due to a lack of voltage to the reciever as the motor drains the batteries and recomended a capacitor fo rthe reciever.
I picked one up today from my LHS but I only have a 2 channel reciever and it has a servo/ECS plug on it. I guess it would be ok to plug it into the battery slot in the reciever  .Has anyone ever used one? Novak swears it will help with my "glithcing" problem. Aparently its pretty common with the 3.5-4.5 motors even with GP packs.

You should be able to plug it into the battery slot and it should work fine. I haven't tried it, but I also haven't had that problem.
Yes thats where it should be pluged in. Its really no diffrent than pluging in a receiver pack, just with less voltage.

Thanks guys. It seems to be working. I say seems because I tried it with a cheap 3000mah stick pack and it only went crazy once :o . I know I shouldnt run it like that but my GP pack is dead and the mail man still hasnt brought me my Lipo  .

The right fix would be to get some better batteries. The flutter in control is due to the drastic voltage drop suffered by the batteries when you nail the throttle.

GP3300 are good enough? :roll2:...... ;)
I mentioned in a previouse post that I was waiting on the mailman to bring my 6000 MAH lipo. :D
Well I installed the cap and geared it down to 21 instead of 24 and it runs great with the 3300GPs. Not as fast as I would want, but it will do for now.

24 tooth pinion sounds a bit high in a stadium truck, 21 even sounds high if you are running a novak 3.5 or 4.5.

Lower gearing willl ALWAYS help this problem. The lower the gearing the less the load, and so you see less of the voltage dip and less stuttering.

I know the geraing is tall but this truck has never seen dirt. 21 is the sweet spot. No more glitching and the motor doesnt heat up. The only thing that hates it is the batterys.
