Ok i have a few things i need you to confirm and help me with my savage X.
First and my worst problem, i run the car in the street, i haven't tuned it yet because i'm still going easy on it, (i havent used it much)
And every time i run it seems like it is bumping up and down slightly and i think that is because the engine is still a little stiff?
And when i have ran it for a while it starts sounding different at idle and generally doesnt sound good, i am running 20% odonnel so i don't thin its that.
Anyone know anything that will help,
(i don't have a camera that records sound so i cant show you.)
Thanks.

It sounds like you are too rich. That will cause the idling problem and maybe the bumping (i may be wrong about that).

I thought maybe that i will have a go at running tommorow if theres no more storms, shall i lean it out half a turn each run and then fine tune?

I would set the needles to factory settings and give it a few good high-speed runs to get the carb cleaned out of fuel, and turn the hsn in 1/8 turn increments until best performance is achieved, with one or two high-speed runs in between needle adjustments. Then do the same for the lsn, just watch the acceleration and idling. 1/2 turn is a bit much, unless it is richer than the factory settings. 1/8 and even 1/16 turn increments are better and less risky.

no prob.
O, one more thing: make sure you check the temps. If it gets too hot, richen it by 1/8 turn. Check your manual for the operating temps.

And.. Make SURE that you see some blue smoke coming out of the pipe. If you don't see any you're running too lean and could easily damage the engine due to lack of lubrication and overheating. Make sure you see blue exhaust.

Tuned it today, still have blue smoke, very fast and gets second gear now no probs a little bit of fine tuning to adjust brakes, idle speed and it'll be done!
