Would a HPI wheely king class as a rock crawler?
I was looking to get into crawling when i have some spare money later this year but i know i probably won't be able to make a custom one, (i don't have the power tools)
i was wondering would a wheely king class as a crawler to get me started? Or is there any other crawlers that come RTR, or nearly

I am not sure about that because it is very new and don't know if it is any good, my guess it is alright but probably better for what it is called-wheelies. Maybe you could get a clod or tlt and eventually turn it into a crawler. It doesn't take too much modifying to get it a full rock crawler. Also maybe a nylint on ebay or something is good, that is what i started out with. And the only power tools i used is a dremel with a cutting wheel and a sanding wheel. That is it.
Edit: A good choice might also be to get a tlt and use the stock chassis and just stretch the wheelbase to what ever you want.

The Wheely King is 2WD, but easily converted to 4WD. If you converted the drivetrain, and made a few simple tweaks, it would crawl just fine. You'll see a lot of Wheely King based crawlers very soon. Like the TLT-1 based crawlers, most likely the more harrdcore ones will just use the axles.

In stock form, the WK is not a crawler. I have heard a few guys talk about the axels but the jury is still out on thier durability. I would think that in about six months you will see many conversions.
