OK, I know these threads are very common and I posted one about a week ago trying to decide between a Revo and a Warhead. I ruled out the Warhead thanks to your input and have since looked at the Revo. I have now ruled out the Revo just because I think it's too elaborate and too expensive of a truck for what I want it for (bashing).
I now have it down to 2 other trucks: MGT and Aftershock. I have read alot about the MGT here and everyone seems to be very happy with them but my lhs doesn't stock them so I can't check one out in person. They do however carry the Aftershock and I really like the look of that truck, the only thing that kinda has me sad is the 30mph top speed (I think I read that the MGT will do 40+ stock, right?)
I guess my dilema is that my bro has a Savage X and while I don't like it, I want something that is up to par with it performance wise. So with all that said, is the MGT that much more bada$$ than the Aftershock or do the other features of the Aftershock make up for the slower top speed?
So let's here what you think, if you were in the market for one of these trucks witch one would you go for? And I promise this is the last thread of this type from me. :D

MGT, aftershock isn't as tough either and MGT and Savage X are both basicly equal. You don't need to see one in person, lots of people will tell you that the MGT is better, or at least that is what i think.

MGT i hear they're really easy to fix (parts spaced out)
and i hear they're tough, i would choose savage for bashing but i know how it is with not wanting the same as your bro.
I would normally lean towards the MGT, but if your LHS doesn't have good parts support for it I would recommend you go with something else.

DO NOT GET an aftershock! They look appealing but the truck is a cheapo version of the lst. Losi went the cheap route for the 2speed tranny and LOTS of people are having issues with the OWB, truck not shifting in gear, radio glitching, throttle linkages and the OWB for the pull starts. These are problems right OUT OF THE BOX!!
Losi does not think that they are having truck issues with the aftershock but look around and see how many are selling now for 200-300 dollars. I would go with the MGT if you are price shopping.

Ok, I think I'm 100% set on the MGT! I think the first upgrade I'll want is a rechargeable reciever pack. Does Associated offer a battery and charger combo like Traxxas does? I'll probably uprade to RPM arms and what not but I'll wait till the stock ones break first. Thanks for the replies dudes, I probably would have gotten the Aftershock without this forum.

Well your just saying that because you had a bad experience, and 99 perecent of radio glitching on the lst forums was because people had dead batteries and they did not realize it, because they need to run a 6v pack not alkalines and the radio needs to be at 9.6v or higher. Throttle linkage i ran that one for a LOGN time and had no issues, just set the trim to open throttle more thats all, but again 90 percent of people had no issues on the LST forums. And the truck not shifitng is again related to people not having the slipper at the correct spec, or MOST likely they did not have a good tune. AND the OWB on the pull starts were bullet proof but they would slip like any engine when you ran your engine to rich, or ran a fuel with high oil content. And MANY people are running the stock 2sp setup with original OWB, and those who had a problem, got a new one from losi with no issues and they worked no problem, and others just got a LST2 2 speed for REALLY cheap off ebay like $20 with the ENTIRE 2 speed assembley ALREADY assembled.
I don't mean to bash you, but it was just a bad expierence and your one issue was that OWB and thats all.

I have the absolute right to voice my experience and not allow it to be discredited by anyone. Do you even know me or had a conversation to know anything about my background research into this truck? I spoke with many people and by that I mean about 50 regarding this truck before I bought it and the prevailing problems were numerous. I decided to buy the truck anyway because I got it so cheap. I have done all of the upgrades to this truck including the lst2 spec spur etc. I have even taken it to the lhs for repair and they concur with the opinion it is not a good truck.
My experience is just that and it was negative like sooo many other people. Who are you to try and discredit someone else's experience? I didnt know God was a suscriber to these forums as well!!! LOL
The fact remains the truck has many issues that no one should have to deal with on a brand new truck.
The MGT is a better truck out of the box and without upgrades. It will run well and is solid without having to do any upgrades to get it to just run normally.

Yes, i understand you have ur right to speak, but what im pointing out is you are speaking out that like because your angry you couldn't fix the truck, you are all over the LSTforums arguing about ur truck and i even PMed u, trying to sell your truck, i have seen many trucks come in(to my LHS i sometimes go in for a few bucks), and they all came in for stupid reasons, LIKE people don't realize u need fully charged batteries, people don't realize the wheel nuts need to be tight , people dont realize you need the slippers to SLIP not BE GLUED TOGETHER  All shops dis these trucks, you want to know why? because they want you NOW to buy ANOTHER truck, my shop however, there are like 3 guys who LOVE the truck, and think losi makes a good product, and there are others who prefer the savage, just because it is cheaper, see the problem is that its the population of people who own LST's against savage, or whatever, if the LST was cheaper then you would see, everyone change there opionion(wont happen). Anyone can talk whatever crap they want, there are many on the LSTforums with the aftershock and are happy with its durablility, radio, engine, and strong FO transmission's, but the only REAL negative compared to all other trucks is that DAM OWB and thats all, im not sure what other negatives u can experience expecpt being a Newb to the hobby, most people new to the hobby complain, even i did, and this was about a AMAZING buggy, it was a Hyper 7 buggy, we all learn. And those people at the hobby shops, they tend to like messing up your vehicle, so that way they make more money on labour, they are the smarter ones.
I just want to make it clear the Aftershock is NOT garbage, but there is still a open possibility for OWB slippage, however losi will happily replace the bearing, free and send you a new OWB VERY fast.
But, im not saying the Monster GT sucks, i suggest the MGT any day of the week, BUT im just saying, i don't want people to say the Aftershock is garbage(another word for garbage is Warhead EVO :D ) because of that small issue, and frustration with that same issue.

I just ordered my MGT! :D Got it for $391 shipped off ebay!
What do you guys think about the stock radio? It seems like it has quite a few nice features, I like the fact that it has a built in charge jack, I had to put one in my Traxxas radio myself.

i actually dont mind the stock radio, its good to begin with. But a upgrade to a digital radio like the XS3i, or synthesized XS3 perferably, or better yet spektrum system is very nice.
