I have a mamba system for my rc18b, the black wire going to the motor has a cut in it right next to the stress relief/heatshrink going into the motor. I would like to repair this, and taking the motor apart to replace the wire would make it much easier. Is it possible to take at least the end plate off? if so, then is it ok to solder a new wire on in there? Any help on this subject is appreciated.

The wire is actually part of the motor coil. It is not really repairable. If it runs ok, just put new heatshrink over it.

the wire is cut all the way through, hanging on by a strand of insulation. it is ok to solder the wire that is currently in the heatshrink/stress relief on the outside of the motor?

If the entire wire is cut you have no choice but to try to solder to whats left. Its not the same as soldering to a battery wire though. You must make sure you get the enamel insulation off each strand of the wire and can apply solder to each one. If you miss any of the strands the motor will not run properly.

a fast way of removing enamel is to burn it off, its the only way i found that works...i use my jet lighter (burns arround 2500 - 3000 degrees) and for literally milliseconds just blast as little as possible and thats it!
Im sure there are probably other ways BUT if you have no choice this may work.
