I moved to College Station in October and can't find a RC Shop or Off Road track anywhere close (yes I know about the ones in Houston but it's over an hour and a half away) I work for Caterpillar doing sales and training on the smaller machines ( skidsteers, mini excavators ect...). So I have the equipment to build the track but I'm not sure how much of a demand there is for a track. Anyone????

I was at school at A&M for the past year and there are 2 tracks that are not running anymore. I found this out by the people in the hobby shop in bryan which isnt a very good shop at all. Head north on Hwy6 Exit Hwy190 turn right and about 1-2 miles its on your left...they also sale trailers...its direclty across from the airport. It would be great to have an rc track down there!!!

That's the problem, I can't seem to find any other R/Cers or a place to run my Mugen truggy. Spinning doughnuts at a baseball field dosen't really appeal to me. The cloest track to C/S is in Houston, 2hrs each way. So that is why I am looking for a piece of land to build a track on. I have the construction equipment to build it and it only takes about 1 day to build one. I have built several BMX, Motorcross and R/C tracks.

We should just take over a vacant field somewhere guerrilla style :D

Ah yes, the old debate of a track in my hometown. lol
There was a guy (his name was Kevin, I think) that tried his best to set up a track out at the old motocross track out at Jones road (the former site of flip and spin rc). This was a few years ago and I have since lost contact with him. The closing of the HobbyTown USA next to best buy was a bit of a blow. I wouldn't mind seeing a track in C.S. again, but I just don't think it will happen.

I do mainly RC rockcrawling. I am involved in a Houston club, they come here, mainly to Bee Creek, and we go to Houston also.
I do have a vehicle to run on a track, well...to play on a track. I don't have much time to get it started but I do have enough time for upkeep.

PapaSa and myself get together every now and then to bash around at local parks and parking lots. We are also part of a rc crawling club. http://www.texasrcoffroad.com/txrco_home/
If you ever want to join us in some bashing don't hesitate to call or email me.
832-247-9181 Bi_eep@yahoo.com I currently have a brushless E-Revo that I bash with.
We just got a new hobby store in Bryan so hopefully that will get more Rc people in the area. Since there are no local track, I sometimes travel to houston and race with my cousin. We NEED one in college station, I'm also willing to help locate and build one.

I have been reading though the forum here and it seems that there is a need for an RC track in College Station, Texas. Well....the good news is....we have 532 acres that we are looking to do something with immediately south of town. The bad news, I am very new to RC racing and have seen only a hand full of tracks. Therefore I am asking for YOUR help!
Anyone interested in building a track in College Station...please contact ASAP.
Also, is there any organizations or clubs devoted to RC racing and cometition in CS? If so, please forward them my contact info. I am serious about building a track but want to take steps to ensure it succeeds as well. A local club or organization would be crucial to its survival.
Please, contact me with any and all ideas. With your help, we can get a track in CS! So let's go RACING!!

We do have a mid-size front end loader.....other than that....I am not sure what type of equipment you would need. We do not have a skid steer. Obviously we can provide the land if you can provide the expertise....

A simple front-end loader should be fine. Can we set up a time that all of us can get together to look at the land, meet each other, and discuss our options/plans?
I believe the best time for me and Badcop would be on a Monday afternoon. 6pm-ish. I am in a 8-5 M-F job and I think I will be out of town every weekend in June.

Anyone interested in meeting to view the land and throw around some ideas...please email me and I will set up a date and time for us to meet. I am out of town right now and will not be back until June 22. So I might be able to meet everyone around 6pm June 22....but just in case my trip get delayed by a day.....please send an email to jc@kesterracing.com and I will create a mailing list to update everyone interested.
Hope to hear from you all!

Hey Guys, I'm finally back in town and can meet to survey the land and toss around some ideas about getting a track built. I'm only in town though through July 5th though....then I hit the road again. So let's meet. Call, email, or reply to forum.
