Ok, here's a question I haven't seen even discussed. I'm getting ready to put the shocks together for my crawler. What weight oil is a good starting point. Do I want a soft setup, stiff setup? I'm going to run a BBY crawler chassis with some AE RC10GT shocks and progressive reservoirs. I would imagine #2 pistons and 35wt wouldn't be a bad starting point, but this is something I haven't seen discussed at all. Just looking for a base setup to start with so that when I take it out for the first time I don't spend 2 minutes watching it crawl over nothing and having to take it home and strip the shocks before it'll even work.

Well, not sure about the shock oil but there will be torque twist in the rear left spring. If you put a stiffer spring and or shock oil in it then that would be a good thing.

from what I have seen 30-35 should be good. Make sure to run a thicker oil in the back left (if its a real car it would be the rear driver side).

I plan on doing 25 in the front, 30 in the back right and 35 in the back left.

Hope this helps.

I'm using associated 1.39" shocks (a hair over 4 inches fully extended) on an XRC CF frame. I haven't gotten it built up yet, bu i'm guessing it'll be around 4-5 lbs.
