Im running a 5700 in my T4 with 3s lipo batts. Current gearing is 15/87 with HPI Geolander tires. Im having trouble with overheating, or what I THINK is overheating. Both the Motor and ESC are about 160 after about 5min. Is this normal? What gearing are you guys running?

I think 200F is the limit for the motor. Not sure about the controller. If foer the motor that is the steady temp then it should be ok. Does the temp keep rising?

Up to 200 is good for the motor, esc has thermal protection (at 200 or above) so no worries there. Those temps sound fine, as long as they don't go much higher after longer run. Set the motor timing to lowest with castlelink to reduce some temp there.

That gearing should be okay .. though I would actually gear it up a little bit. I think the stuff can overheat from being geared too low OR being geared too hight. I would suggest trying like a 20t pinion and seeing how that works for you. I run a 24t in my b3 and it doesn't get too hot.
