Check this (http://www.lrp-electronic.de/e/lis/02_Speedos/AI_Brushless/80150.jpg) out!

Listed as 99.99 euros. So that's what, about 130-140 bucks USD?

Interesting to say the least.

The ESC pictured is not unlike the SS+ ESC (motor limit down to 8.5 turns; the other version is listed as a motor limit down to 12.5 turns).

You know what I like about that? The waterproof part. If it runs well I might consider getting it if/when I smoke my SS ESC. I'm wicked paranoid about water frying my SS (as I should be I suppose). A waterproof brushless ESC would make me much more likely to run my truck in fun stuff like snow. The motor is sealed (mostly) and servos seem pretty unaffected by snow. Hmmm.... :)

Yeah, except it is one of those "AI" things.

Lots of people reported frying their Sphere Comps and the conjecture is that it makes mistakes in the auto-detection process and then tries to run in the wrong mode. LRP denies this, always claiming user error, but some of the guys this has happened to are experienced racers who had been running the ESC for a while before it suddenly smoked.
