I know this is not directly an RC related item, but you can use it to work on your RC vehicle  - a cordless drill with a brushless motor.

BTW Festool has been making professional high-end tools for the European market for decades.
I just wonder what kind of motor they are using.

Actually the description says "EC-TEC motor WITHOUT carbon brushes produces virtually no mechanical wear"
This model - C12 - is the brushless one.

Yeah, my washing machine has a brushless motor, I don't know maybe I'm a nerd but I'm excited about brushless motors getting into more stuff. I even made a blog post about the new brushless drill (http://brushlesscar.com/brushless-motor-now-in-handeld-drill/)I was so excited. It would be interesting to get one and try it out in a vehicle. I know of lots of guys that use Dewalt brushed motors in their cars.

Its cool to see brushless motors in a drill. BUT, I would hesitate to call that a "high end" product when it uses 1300mah NiCds, that is so 80s.

High end because of the motor, I think in a lot of cases NiCD batteries are the best for people using drills for construction cuase they go through one a after another. It's still the cheapest and safest battery out there.

Nicd is pretty safe, but lithium batteries are safe and do the job better. The price difference is not as big as most people think, but either way, a "high end" product should include "high end" components.
I am a certified auto tech, but I have also worked on quite a few construction sites. I have used many kinds of drills on the job, and I usually test their capability rather hard. The newer cordless tools with lithium batteries perform light years better than any old Ni-XX powered tools.
