I have been thinking of getting out of this hobby or at least get out of nitro. If i were to get out of nitro, I would buy myself a tamiya tt-01 rx-7. Or should i just hold on to the revo 3.3 and buy the tamiya tt-01? because I recently sold my emaxx. :( :(

I would hold onto the revo 3.3, and get the tt-01, drive them both for a while, revo on dirt and tt-01 on pavement, and see which discipline you more enjoy. Than sell one of the two. Or keep the two and enjoy both worlds.
If its because of maintenance, i'd think of it this way with a nitro, gets dirty a simple clean with an airbrush filled with metho or what you guys in the US would call denatured alcohol cleans it right up. Check screws and your done, replace worn parts as required oryou break stuff, but you get wear and broken parts in On road electric as you do Off road Nitro unless your a crap driver and feel that the barrier/tree is the right place to be goin.
Tuning a nitro isnt that hard at all, get a feel for how the engine runs find out what it does if its rich or lean, than tune within the parameters.
The differences between a nitro running rich and a nitro running lean are easy to identify ie: running to lean the engine will most likely just die, so you determine wich part of the rev range it happened, was it when you were pluggin away, or when you were gunning it for the triple jump. and adjust the low speed and high speed accordingly. A rich engine would shows signs of life if you pinned it but may be sluggish to rev than die, same principle as to lean, determine wht part of the rev range it happened and adjust accordingly.
But your not outa the mainenance game with electric if thats your thing. Brushed motors need new brushes and a comm cut sumtimes within three runs, for best performance, but that has changed with the advent of brushless systems, I wont bore you any more about why fueling a nitro is quicker than waiting for your batterys to charge, so i won't go any further as this forum has plenty of info about each.
Put simply run both for a while, find out wich one you enjoy most and go with that, or enjoy both worlds.
Personally id go with the latter.

I know how to tune and all, and I have gone through electric motors and brushless. I basically tried everything except for lipo. i love them all, but i like to stick with one. The reason why I want to get out of nitro, is because of the price of nitro fuel. too expensive for me. I can get gp3300 batteries for $25 each.

does anyone regret getting a nitro? like buying fuel just for bashing? i'd understand racing, but i'll never get to see a track.

i would like to get a gas powered vehicle (hpi baja). if i knew then what i know now... if I average it out i've spent close to a grand on each of my rides... so the asking price isn't that bad.

Never regret it.. i have both ntro and eldectric and love both but there is something about nitro which i can never let go, if i were to buy a new truck it would be nitro, if i were to build a project it would be nitro and i would only spend money on my nitro, i love the fact that they are almost real and the power is genuinely real, the noise... everything..
Kepp hold of the Revo 3.3.. even if you wanna get out, youll regret it, your gonna come back into the hobby anyway you know it you, you love it.

Yep, its true...
For me its even the smell of the nitro fuel. I have been bashing the buggy and the next day when I go to work my daily driver vehicle smells like nitro inside the car.

After going nitro after leaving electric over 11 years ago, i'll never go back to boring old battery pack R/C cars again. Then again, I make good money so shelling out $30/gallon for nitro fuel doesn't phase me.
