2006 Best Paint of the Year Poll (Amature

Here is a chance for everyone to vote for their favorate winner from the amature class from all of 2006. Im only allowed to include 10 entries in the poll so I took out the concourse guys. I know this isnt really fair, but I feel this way the best bodies are displayed and I have always felt the concourse guys needed to be judged differently because a lot of the time the least flashy is the most well done and that never does well when compaired to some of the work below. Yeah, some of these guys really don't classify as Amatuer to me. But at any rate, I thought people were done looking at my paint :p

Btw, in case people forgot, that CP2.0 was done with cans.

quite frankly, I always thought that if you have an airbrush, then you are no longer an amateur. I mean, obviously a well faded, well shaded, we shadowed body is going to look better than a body with sharp, solid color or rough-faded paint jobs. Oh well, its up to the moderators to decide these things, not me!

I've moved on to airbrushing, but I'm still most definately an amatuer. It takes a lot more discipline to lay down color with an airbrush than cans, you have so much more control it's easy to over-do it.

Also forgot to mention, my CP2.0 pictured above was trimmed, masked, and painted in under 2 hours :D

I think Clintscreations is done very well, better than I could do with a lot of practice, but I think its unfair to say it looks like a pro class. I think there are a couple shown here that are far from amateur, there is just a look that says pro vs amateur and I think Clintscreation is the top of the true amateur job. Just what I think.

According to the rules, whether or not you are in the amatuer or pro class really doesn't matter on your skills a whole lot, but more on whether or not you make money on painting bodies.

Many of the painters that do better than most amatuers are in the new intermediate class now anyway.

This is true to an extent, but people quickly find their way to the proper class. Its hard to draw a line in the sand and not have people complain they are stuck on the wrong side.
