I need all your input on this one. I just recently got back into the RC game. Was very much into it 15 years ago (still have vintage Hornet, Vintage blackfoot, vintage Ultima and vintage turbo optima) Just recently purchased a new Tamiya sand viper, very nice, rugged, simple buggy. I like that. Threw a RZ in there and it's fun to drive but with the limited ground clearance I really can't drive it in my backyard. So I'm in the market for a truck

All I do is backyard bash and sometimes head up to the local school to run in the baseball fields and such. No racing and no one to run with so it's me alone.

I have three trucks in mind

1) Emaxx
2) Stampede XL5
3) New 4x4 Wheely King

Emaxx is a NICE truck, a little more than I would like to spend but I guess you get what you pay for. I heard the good and the bad abouth these trucks. Weak link is the tranny and the front uprights. Is there any thing extra to purcahse to make this truck better out of the box, i.e bearing. high touque streering servo etc.... Should I wait for the revapmed Emax to hit the streets?

Stampede XL5 look like a nice, simple truck (I like that) many hop up parts like the Emaxx and is very well priced. From what I read it's built like a tank when it come to bashing in the yard. Also if this is the truck i will purchase I heard that only the tranny is ball raced. What other ball bearing should I purcahse to have everything ball raced? Is it 12, 5x8 bearings or 24, 5x8 bearings? What else should I purcahse to make this truck better out of the box other than the bearings

Wheely King 4x4. I heard mixed reviews on this truck. Good basher, fun etc. Then I heard cheap plastic, all it does i wheely all the time and I havent seen the price of the new 4x4 version yet. What else should I get with this, bearings, servo, etc...

So I ask all of you to throw you suggestions this way so I can make an informed decision. I really do apreciate it.

Thanks
Nick F

ESavage is a good truck, and nothing else to buy. 3300 batts and charger included for about $20 more than an Emaxx.

I'd get the E-maxx, it's a better all around truck than the E-Savage, has better offroad abilites, more aftermarket support, and easier to work on.

GO E-MAXX!!!

I agree with bashin maxxer. The e-maxx is a great choice.

The XL5 comes with bearings .... The only real thing you should do is plaster some deans on it before you try to put any power through that crappy connector they have on it stock... I own both the Emaxx and the Pede and wouldnt trade either for ANYTHING they are great trucks ... Best of Luck .. Big V
