I am by no means new to RC's. I did it for several years and got out of them about the time I turned 21 because of other hobbies (Firearms) I wanted to start. I started to buy an E-Savage but decided I would rather build a scale truck.
Here is what I have so far:
K2-3S Crawler Chassis
New TLT-1 Diff case F&R
New TLT-1 Rockbuster Diff F&R
New Traxxas Stampede MAGNUM 272 Transmission
I am going to use Maxx axles and tranny yokes. Stock TLT shocks. Not usre what body yet. If anyone has any parts I could use that would be great. I will get pics up and parts arrive. Thanks!

I've been wanting to do a scale build just like that one. Same chassis and body. I want to see how it turns out.

None so far.. atleast not on here. There are a couple guys on rccrawler.com that have been helping me. I have got 95% of my parts. When they all get in it will be to build it and go have some fun with it. I still have some minor things like steering links and maybe some other small thing I can't think of right now that I need to finish the truck other than a motor, speed control, and a radio system. I am going to get the truck most of the way built before I get the electronics.

Thanks! Yea, throw out the big ones on this project! It has cost more than I expected but all in good fun. That was accually more to show the size but it would have looked silly with a $1 sitting next to it! I want to say I have about $450 in it with zero electronic bought. Keep in mind I have bought everything new except for my Maxx axels I am using. Hell, I spent $30 on just a set of misc. screw and nuts for this. I will keep it updated as I get things done on it.

I got done putting my axels together today. I used ball bearings instead of the bushing that came with the diff kit. They are locked along with my new Stampede tranny! Now I all I can do is wait for my other parts to get here.

What is that? If it doesn't work, try the spider gear method. I used that on mine and it is great. It's free and takes no time at all.

I'm afraid the silicone will not be rigid enough, eventually it'll break down if you have a high torque motor. Just keep an eye on it.

i would lock the diffs with the spider gears or jb weld
if you go the spider gear way lay all 3 gears in line
dont forget to shim the pinion on your rears
one shim on the pinion should be enough
did you lock the trans diff to
what shocks are you going with

I did lock them all. I am going with stock rockbuster shocks right now, they should do me well. All this is going to be really is a back yard basher anyway.

I actually like the stock ones better than maxx shocks. The tires rubbed on them and they didn't give me as much flex. I only had the stock springs on there though and i didn't want to buy new ones.

here is a link to my build in roller stage K2-3L
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61132
the shocks i have on my rig are from run2jeepn in the dealers section
all 4 shocks 60mm for 31.00 shipped they also come with 3 sets of springs
the stock shocks are real stiff on the up and down stroke
check out the tg10 stub axles here
www.rcpcrawlers.com
if you use the stock stub axles when you use different rims
the threads become real short you might have to use loctite on the stock stub axles
what esc are you going to run

Do you have any clear close ups on your links where they mount on the axel? I tried to mount my uppers to the shock mount like that but I got alot of binding from it. I made a bracket to mount them togther in the middle on the servo mount to keep them from binding. Is that is K2-3L or the K2-3S chassis? It looks just like mine and he called it a K2-3S

I made some progress last night. It has the possibility to have some good flex but we'll see how it does with shocks mounted on it. It also should sit as high as I have it in the pics. Shock should be here today so I will know then.

Yep.. there have been a few snags on some of the parts I thought I was going to be able to use. I will update. Maxx axels will not work easily! I also have had to change the link set up. I will update more when it gets closer to running so I know what does and doesn't wrok properly. Thanks!

I haven't made anymore progress because the parts I need to make some have yet to arrive. I did get the body in and set it on there with some pics to get an idea of how it will look. I was starting to get discouraged but I am very pleased with how the body sits on the truck.

It is going to be lower. I am going to narrow these wheels and tires, I think. I have never done that before so I am not sure. I would like it to sit where the top of the tires just meets the bottom of the body.
