hi guys

Im thinking about making my own pit stands and was wondering if any of you guys might have some pics of yours? I was thinking about a plywood top and a piece of 2x4 for the support and maybe another piece of plywood for the base.

Thanks
Jeremy

Have fun. I use a gladware container that holds my tires, batteries, and a couple tools and set it under my evader to keep tehe soft tires from flat-spotting.

yeah.. I use a tire/wheel. I saw some real nice looking huge stands for 1/8th monster trucks that wee made out of PVC and painted black. Those looked great. But anyway I usually just use tires.. A rotating stand might be nice though. I'd pobably just get a duratrax or ofna stand if you want a rotating stand or if you want to look cool in the pit.

I like the looks of the duratrax one. I still like the tire and plastic container idea, but that's just me!

I like the toilet paper idea, lol. I use a piece of 2X4 wood for my onroader and i use my starter box for my offroaders.

I really want one of the ofna ball bearing ones.. but they're expensive :).. I am also in to painting a bit so I've been interested in getting a few JConcepts clear lexan stands.

I've got 2 of the DTX ones and one by Ofna, but with 11 more rcs, I just started using anything that would get the wheels of the ground and be stable.

My Savage is sitting on a 1/2 case of shotgun shells, lol. Thats nice and stable!

I built the PVC one that there are directions to build on this site..I think. It works great, and held my EMaxx even at full throttle and torque-ing it back and forth. I can send you a picture if you want one. Just let me know. It cost me about $5, and about 1/2 hour of time. But with that said, they do have some nice stands that are relatively cheap. I know some are $10-$20, but I have seen one on Tower that is like $70-$80! What a joke that is! Or rip-off, I should say.

If the bottom of the chassis is clean I just stack a couple of hard cover books, and because of what they made of they don't usually slide of each other. If I'm cleaning the car just put a plastic bag over the books.

I think those are pretty neat for the price. They get the job done, and that's about it. I still like the toilet-paper idea and my gladware idea! :D
