Developed in conjunction with Scott Stoops, RC author and full-size IAC competitor, the Extra SHP excels at all phases of aerobatic flight. A special, high-performance airfoil gives it outstanding stall and post-stall characteristics - for the pilot this means rock-free harriers, stable parachutes, great snap performance, and tight waterfalls. Landings are truly easy with this high-performance wing - you'll be amazed how slow and stable your approaches will be. Virtually coupling-free knife edge performance, even at high-alpha, is another strength of this aircraft.
Assembly is very quick and easy, and an extensive package of high-quality hardware ties it all together. Next-generation carbon landing gear gives the perfect compromise of strength and flexibility, and 3DH axles and tough 52mm wheels combine for excellent rough-field performance. A high-visibility color scheme is applied in tough, lightweight film, and a full-color decal package is included. The magnetic canopy-hatch provides easy access to high-strength battery tray and convenient receiver-mount. The strong plywood-box motor mount is completely assembled and ready to accept your 350-425 Watt brushless outrunner.
HS-65 servos are recommended in all 4 servo locations, and drop right into the pre-cut holes. Lipoly batteries 1800mah 20C up to 3200 mah 20C are recommended. Our favorite pack is the Thunder Power 2070 3S Extreme 25C, which gives great performance (380-400) Watts on the recommended Torque 2818T-900 motor with APC 13x6.5E prop. Also excellent is the Torque 2814T-820 on 3S packs and APC 14X7E, as well as the E-flite Power 10 and Power 15 motors.
Typical flying weights are 37-41 ounces, depending on motor and battery pack selection.
