-I need a radio for my Eco8 heli and have narrowed it down to 2 choices. Either the Futaba 6EXH or the Airtronics RD6000. Which would be the better choice? Are these radios good enough to be used in .90 bird later on?, or should i bite the bullet and buy a higher end model? Thanks............

Spektrum DX7, I went this route and haven't had no problems yet. Not too expensive, $350.00 for the setup w/ four servos, extra AR7000 reciever $99.00 and a AR6100 for the foamie $49.00. Just a suggestion

Hi James,
Another Ohioan!
I got a Futaba 9CH so that I would not be limited on programming options. I know that the DX7 does support heli functions, but I do not know how extensive the programmability is.

If you are looking for a transmitter-only deal (charger and instructions, too) then there are 2 places to look.
ServoCity.com
www.brucknerhobbies.com
If you want the full package, with receiver ans standard servos, thos 2 have them, as do many other places.
The 9CH is a few dollars more than the 9C, but it has some advantages tfor the heli pilot. Smooth throttle rather than ratcheted makes hovering easier. Switch assignments are different than the airplane version (pretty minur, but the default idle-up an throttle-hold switches are where you want them for helis)
But is you get the 9C, the throttle ratchets can be easily modified to be smooth.
Brother #2 recently got more into helis, and the 9CHSuper was what they had. All the same functionality with a few more features.
