I've been collecting parts to get ready to build a 2.2 comp crawler.. going with a xrc chassis, along with a pede tranny, will be using some old alum optima mid shocks, set of old blackfoot tires.. waiting to buy some beadlocks.. now I have a mamba 25 i run in my MLST. So I guess my question is what motor do I run with it.. ? any help would be great.. thanks

I would go with holmes hobbies, if you have questions he is great at answering them. The Revolver from what I have been told is a good bashing motor, has JUST enough power for some poeples comp rigs. I myself plan on going with the 2.2 hyperion, the extra two weeks of savings is well worth the wait for me.

I've got that one and it has a lot of torque and costs a ton less so you can upgrade other stuff for the same price.

Dont use the quark, or so I have been told by John. The mamba 25 will work, but stick with a 2/3 or 4/5 pack, as this will help the esc not get so hot. If you really want to go all out, go with the mamba max esc as this can handle brushed and brushless.
This is the setup I intend on going with.

Just so you know, The revolvers that we had included the $10 adapter plate as part of the price. So the price is the same. I'd appreciate it if you would be sure that the info you are posting is correct. ;)

I think so but dont take my word for it. I think I have seen a lot of the guys in my area running the mamba max in their fast/basher trucks and they all have the brushless stuff in them.

Hey I didn't notice that. Didn't mean to redirect anyone to John's Site. But you do have to agree on that John is the know it all on Brushless Motors for Crawlers.

No problem on the redirect because you are right Holmes is THE man when it comes to electronics.
I just wanted everyone to know that our motor came with the optional adapter plate, thus the extra $10 same as you would pay elsewhere. ;)
