View Full Version : SV27 upgrade to wire Drive

Just wanted to let you know I have added an SV27 wire drive to my wiredrive selection along with excellent couplers to match.

This is a great upgrade with lower maintenace and resistance.

The only mod is getting the short kink out of the stuffing tube at the support area...(this is not good for cable either.) We end up removing the stuffing tube (simple) and then run new brass with a gentle curve to the motor where it enters the stuffing tube support. I also have the newer teflon that fits directly in the strut and up to the motor.

I am currently writing some detailed instrutions on the mod but it is simple and straight forward.

Grimmracer did such an outstanding job on designing this boat. It opened the doors for many to really see what a decent fast and good handling boat can do.
