Guys, i've finished my crawler, now wondering what would be a good begining for the pinion, presently I have a 23pinion, 87spur running a 55T with the Mamba max through a pede tranny.. ?

I would drop down to mid teens. I am starting out with a 15pinion 87spur but I will be running a 65t.

it seemed a little fast with the 23.. how much drag brake would you use.. right now I have it set at 40% should I go all the way up to 90% as I also have it set to go right to reverse with no lag .. thanks TQ

With the Mamba max, set drag brake so it will hold the truck on a hill without rolling. The value will differ depending on the weight of the vehicle. For a pinion im running a 12t on my crawler w/ 55t lathe and pede tranny. 23t is waaaaay to big. The lower amount of teeth the more torque you will have. I find I have a good amount of torque and enough wheel speed to get out of jams if needed.
