it might be a little easier if you let us know what model you were trying to hook up rear steer..

Jessie, what radio are you using? If you have a Traxxas TQ3, or something similar, check out my radio mod on slidewayz,...its actually quite easy to do. Cool thing is, if you use a self-centering 3 position toggle, it will center itself as soon as you let off the switch...and you can crab steer, or opposite steer, use ONLY rear steer, only front, or any combination.

independate rear steer is over rated go with a servo reversal for true 4 wheel steering.

WRONG... Maybe if your 1/2 retarded. Having independent steering is great. Crab walking is a great bonus....Whats even better then all that is running dual ESC and a good 4-6 channel radio. Wire each motor to there own ESC. You can make the truck turn within it self.

While I'm a fan of independent rear steer, you are out of line. Calling someone else's opinion wrong and resorting to name calling is not what we want here.

If that's the only way you know how to post, post elsewhere.

The cheapest way to go is probably with a Traxxas TQ3 radio. Remove the existing 2-way rocker switch and replace it with a 3 position toggle switch. You'll have to open up the radio to do this, but it's pretty easy. As stated above, the wheels will center when you let go of the toggle switch.

It's usually the same posters who call people names, and it gets really old. And yes, independent rear steer is better for me. Gives me the most options offroad.

I've have good luck competing with true 4 wheel steering. i ran in 2 comps and came in first place in both of them with my super truck. so far i have not seen a dire need for separate front and rear steering, but maybe in the future that will change and i can explore separate front and rear steering, until then i like the ease of use of the y harness, less to think about and i can concentrate on the line im about to take.

I have come upon some lines where I had to crab the truck to ease up the slope, because I really had to drag the back end up the thing, the 4WS would not have gotten me up there because the truck would have gone vertical and tipped up.
I say go for the independant 4 wheeling.
