Hi,

I have a long reach plug (don't know the heat range) in my O.S. 0.61 VR-M engine. It has an idle bar.
How do I find a new one of this kind of plug if it dies??

Or is a standard long reach plug going to do just fine??
I plan on using 25% to 30% nitro only

Obviously, the rule of thumb (in cars) is - the higher the nitro content, the colder the plug

4 feet long timber monohull
4 pounds weight
Octura bronze prop X452
central mount rudder
Sub surface drive

I only have experience with 1/10 on road and 1/8th off road nitro vehicles

Same rule but you shouldn't be using an idle-bar plug in any boat engine. Those are omly for planes that use low nitro.
You can use up to 40-45% nitro with no trouble and stay away from car and plane fuel as it doesn't have enough oil content.

:) Thanks, Ron. I have a (new) spare O.S. Number 8 for my Hyper 7 Buggy - I'll use that.

My fuel for the Buggy is
62% Methyl Alcohol
18% Oil
20% Nitro

Is this too little an oil content?

I have seen some 1/10 on road fuels sold with only 11% oil, but I've always gone for the 18% in all my cars

I have heard that 11% Castor plus 11% synthetic (22% total oil content) is common for performance engines (on + off road)

I always run a little rich, too
I'd rather get the mileage out of my stuff than every percentage point of Horses!
