Bashfest 2K8 ( Cinco De Mayhem) is already in the preliminary stages of planning!!!!! This was such a great sucess, and next year can only be better, bigger, and higher!!!

( watch out for a 12 Ft. Vert ramp! :D :D :D )

Seriously though...bashfest was a sucess. This is definitly an annual event that will grow bigger over time.

Just a lil fyi: I've recently recieved two emails through RCE regarding other organizers setting up "organized" bashing events. Which I will not sponsor. I want to put it on record, here and now...the RC Zone bashfest is the first of it's kind, and all other "organized bash events" that are put together by other websites or organizations are just copying what has been created here. There is more to "bashfest" than just showing up and doing big jumps.

Also, I think the terms "Bashfest" or "RC Zone Bashfest" should be registered with the copywrite office by the appropriate people. Before one of these other screwballs tries to cash in on your sucess.

hey guys!!!!! it's shawn (t3racerx) my account is all @ssed up so I'm logged on robs account. cant wait till the next bashfest!!! we are thinking about trying to put something together here, I'm in Muskegon, about 2 hours southwest of harrison. I'm going to check with the county fairgrounds and see if it would be possable to use the motorcross track, and plan on talking to the owner of the local track to maybe mix some racing in as well. he has a super smooth clay oval track and a pretty decent offroad track that is good for 1/8th and 1/10th scale.
Muskegon is also right on lake michigan with tons of beach to run on (break out the paddle tires!!)
If there is enough interest I will start making calls and see if it can be pulled off.

We weren't actually trying to break stuff. The fun in bashing like that is to see how big you can go without breaking parts. Believe it or not it takes a lot of skill and air time to do a quadrupal backflip (on purpose) and land it. Same goes for all huge jumps. But knowing that you can't land them all, and that damage will inevetably happen is an accepted fact of bashing.

Ohh dont you worry about the ramp...Already have one in the making. it will sit in the back of my pickup. about 14 foot tall or so...it will be carnage. and we can move the ramp anywhere at anytime. and then the 5 foot ramp and the 2 mini's dont worry there will be alot of AIR and parts next year! and to a point size does not matter much if the cars can onlu go so fast they are only going to go so hi not matter the size and angle of the ramp. you make them 2 big it will be like trying to watch a Rustler jump the 5 footer again lol...the higher you go the more power and speed you need! so hopign the 14' isnt too much.

The last week-end of the month, there is going to be a bash at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. It is awesome running in the dunes. This was put together on the Baja Froum, so there will be alot of Bajas there. But any one is welcome. We were up there a few months ago. Last time we were at the foot traffic only area. Once in the dunes, go past Test Hill and turn left. Continue all the way until you hit the foot traffic only area, and turn left. Then you should see us. Here's a little video from the last time.

me and nick just talked and we might have a spot, metro park. lots of black top and space, not far from a hobby shop, eating establishments as well.
also u can fish and do some other stuff as well, its been a while since i have been there but i believe the is putt putt as well, we also talked about setting up a committee , to set a date and help arrange services, if u want to be apart of this pm me, me and nick are both in school right now so we cant do this on our own, but i believe this will be the biggest one yet! larrys has a indoor track and sometimes sets it up for off road electric, and last time i raced there was about 70 entry's!.

We found out from planning the '07 BashFest that if you do it at county parks, state parks or fairgrounds, you usually have to rent the property and purchase insurance.

Hey guys, I just emailed the guy who runs the county fairgrounds here to check on maybe getting it for a weekend to have a bashfest here in muskegon. The fairgrounds has a motorcross track with some big air jumps.
I will also be talking to the owner of the local R/C track here and see if I can get him involved and have some racing mixed in. he has a off-road track and probobly the best dirt oval track in the state.
And of course we have lake michigan and the beach here also.
there are plenty of hotels and campgrounds localy.
let me know what kind of events you would like to have and if you would be interested in attending. if there is enough interest I will pursue it and make it happen.:D

Hey MrCrash and RhcSavage... Ill talk to my mom about Metro Beach because shes on the Mt.Clemens Barracudas football committee and they practice at Metro Beach every day.
Theres allot of space to run where hitting someone is unlikely. (People fly R/C planes there all the time and don't get any fuss from the Rent-A-Cops)

do you guys have a location yet? you should have it in Reagan Park in Medina Ohio. we have a VERY nice off-road race track, plenty of parking, bike trails, oh yea and a SKATE PARK RIGHT NEXT TO THE TRACK! we have a paved parking lot that could be reserved for big air, drifting, on-road track, etc.... and next to that we have a huge gravel parking lot for the football field. its a beautiful location, except there ARE park rules. if you grill, it CANNOT be on an open flame (like a bbq pit) and there is no drinking or Illegal drug usage.

Basically I've been hiding at work. Been too busy to have any kind of a life. Broke up with my g/f a couple of months ago too. So there have been a lot of changes in my life recently. But I've managed to stay in the hobby. Even if it meant only wrenching or bashing/racing for short periods of time. I even had to sacrifice the opportunity to continue working with car action due to lack of time to devote to it.

On the bright side...I met a girl at work. She's awesome!:winner:
And I still have all my rc stuff!!! :cool:

also he never had his knee surgery, and sounds like he used the money to buy him and his girlfriend new vehicles!!

As for the part about whether he used the money to buy vehicles, I don't know about that one. I believe je is still going to have his surgery though, so maybe he still has the money or the Dr. has it.

When I first joined this forum, I kind of thought of Ron as an R/C Guru. Now, I don't know what I think. I had a bad feeling about donating to his "sugery", so I didn't, and I did not post my feelings to scare any one off. I would not buy any thing from him unless he sent the item first.

I'm sure there is a long list of bad circumstances that lead to the finacial situation that Ron finds himself in on this forum, and more than likely in life. I'm sure there are many who could not forgive him, or even want to. But I think that getting the 18T body to Chad for t9dradon is a start to set things right. It may take a long time to complete, but if he is trying to do so, let him without alot of grief. I don't think he started out trying to rip any one off.

I would like to see him back on the boards. For those of you have had bad dealings be willing to hear an apology and not bust his balls if he says he will make every thing right in time?

I have not been in contact with Ron, so I may be way off base in posting this. But I know from personal experience that you can find yourself in a situation that you think there is no way out. Then, you have one person that holds out a hand to help you up. Then another hand, and another...

The money went to his surgeon before his accident, it was the surgeon who prescribed the pain killer to Ron that caused the accident. The surgery was obviously postponed but is being rescheduled.

I tried to be carefull about the news I posted about ron, people were wondering and I gave the info that I had.
I have no problems with ron, but I do feel that he does owe a lot of people on here some explanation of whats going on, after all, people gave up a lot of hard earned money to help him out.
