PRESS RELEASE

Inferno GT Ferrari F430 GT

A big nitro machine with big performance!

The legendary and menacing Inferno GT is based on the design of a World Champion. The chassis, suspension and drivetrain are highly refined for durability and performance under the most demanding conditions, which gives the Inferno GT the highest pedigree of its class. There's simply nothing else available on the market with the bloodlines of the GT, so be confident you're getting the ultimate value and performance with the Inferno GT.

A powerful, easy-to-tune GXR .28 (4.6cc) engine is at the heart of the GT. The engine features a large cylinder head for improved cooling, and a two-needle slide valve carburetor for precise tuning and crisp throttle response. A centrifugal clutch gets power to the included 2-speed automatic transmission, which features updated gearing that should push top speeds even higher.

The shaft drive system, developed over decades of high-level competition around the world, gets power to the wheels very efficiently, and is the standard by which all others are judged. It's incredibly durable and low-maintenance, which means you get to spend more time running your car.

The 4-wheel independent suspension features oil-damped coil-over shocks with threaded spring pre-load adjusters. That means that you can change ride height and handling characteristics with a quick twist of the pre-load collar. The beefy suspension is as tough as it gets, allowing the car to drive away from big impacts that would cripple other cars. The suspension is also very versatile, allowing easy adjustments to handle just about any type of running surface. Standard size 17mm hex hubs attach the wheels to the driveshafts. Special wheels with low-profile tires are included with the car, but any street or 1/8 buggy tire will adapt to the Inferno GT.

The Inferno GT comes completely factory assembled with a fully detailed and trimmed body that's ready to mount. Fuel and alkaline batteries for the receiver, transmitter and glow starter are all that's needed to get running.

The Ferrari F430 GT is the racing version of the latest performance machine to come from the famous Ferrari factory in Maranello, which is the body that graces this version of the Inferno GT. The F430 GT is the racing version of the F430 street machine, stripped down to the essentials to reduce weight to just 1100kg, which gives the 500 horsepower machine a healthy power to weight ratio that will easily pin you in the back of your seat when you stand on the accelerator. This is an officially licensed product, which means it's passed the incredibly tough standards that ensure only the best products carry the Ferrari name.

I really wish that the rally game class or a 1/8th scale touring class would take off in the US. I love the proportions as well as the handling of the larger cars. The fact that you can get your hands on a Kyosho GT for around $400 RTR is a big plus as well.

I'm still looking in to getting the Aston Martin version, but there does not appear to be an interest in Rally Game in the UK.

I couldn't agree with you more. The 1/8th scale onroad products that Kyosho has been releasing lately really are top notch quality with a great price point. You're really only other option is the OFNA GTP, which shares none of the looks, some of the performance, and IMO, it seems as though its treated as a red-headed step child for OFNA's predominantly 1/8th scale offroad product lines. The recent revamp of the class by Kyosho has served as a great way to increase competition and customer appeal to the class in general, and hopefully other companies will pick up on its growing popularity. I enjoy the class, enjoy watching it (great sounds, more realistic car size/looks), and I know, at least locally (here in Maryland), it is becoming more competitive and desirable (my lhs cannot keep Inferno GT's in stock, typically the Subaru for some reason). Something that I have seen with this class is its association with rally racing, which I can see, but tend to disagree with. Don't get me wrong, this would be an EXCELLENT platform to make a killer rally ride, but I think that watching those things on a prepared track similar to what 1/10 and 1/8 scale tourers are used to is nothing short of awesome. Either way, Kyosho has a great car in the Inferno GT line, and I would love to pick one up myself.

Hello all,
I recently discovered this Inferno GT and I must say, from the looks of it, it seems to be a great RC. I want to purchase one of these and want to rally it. But first I have a few questions.

1) I currently own a Sportwerks Turmoil RTR. What I want to do is use the engine from that in this. Here is a link to the engine: http://www.sportwerksrc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SWK8087
I want to use this engine because it is a power house and I love it, I also want to keep the exhaust too. Another reason is that the one I have is a non-pullstart and I dont want to hastle with the pullstart on the IGT. My question is can I transfer the 2spd from the IGT engine to this one? I know it has something to do with the shaft but Iam not all that knowledgble on engines so Iam not sure.

2) Since iam going to be offroading this thing, tires are going to be important. I know that you can just mount any 1/8 buggy tire to it but it might look offscale. What is the best tire/wheel combo for a good compramise between looks and performance?

3) Does anyone know the inner diameter, outer diameter and the width of the actual wheels that come with the IGT? I want to know if I can just buy the IGT wheels separately and mount rally tires.

4) Does anyone here actally offroad this on a regular basis? Whats it like?

Thanks!

1) the motor will fit like almost any big bore motor, but you will need to purchace an MP7 motor mount.
The exhaust should fit, just a different mounting wire needed.
Clutch will not fit, the motor you list has an SG shaft, and the motor in the kit is of the non SG type, but the SG clutch from the MP7.5 should fit, although I think these only come as single speed.

2) the wheels are the same fitting as the MP7.5 Buggy so those wheels should fit (you may need to raise the shell for clearance)

3) see 2

4) although the chassis is from the MP7.5 Buggy, it is not intended for heavy off road / jumping / grass use, but flatish off road or rough on road is fine.
The 2-speed will not cope with heavy off road use.

Note: for off road use you'd be better looking at the earlier Subaru kit, the Aston Martin and Ferrari kits are really for on road use.

Hey nimo, thanks for the awesome advice. Ya I did plan on getting the subaru kit. Thats why this turned me onto the rally scene. I didnt plan to do super heavy offroading, just at the local track. The track is very 1/10th friendy so no HUGE jumps just two small ones. And as for the engine I found this:http://home.comcast.net/~pewter_camaro/gtclutch.html
I think iam set!

that subaru body is mighty spiffy, especially if you follow the WRC and have owned an impreza..
